Presented by American Repertory of WNY, Directed by Matthew LaChiusa, HATFUL OF RAIN, is written by the Academy Award nominated actor known from GODFATHER II (Frank'Five Angels' Pentangeli), Michael V Gazzo. Starting out as a Broadway playwright and writing for film (including the screenplay for Elvis Presley's KING CREOLE), Gazzo was an instrumental figure in the Actors Studio and went on to film and TV acting until his death in 1995.

Fresh from her solo cabaret engagement at 54 Below, Broadway starlet Ariana DeBose (Motown, Bring It On) has joined the previously announced line-up for the upcoming return of Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band. This marks DeBose's third guest appearance with the ensemble. DeBose will perform material she has never sung with the Rosen's Big Band before.
Teens to Compete for Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee Youth of the Year Honor, 2/7

Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee will host a competition in which one teen member will be named the local Youth of the Year. The newly named Middle Tennessee Youth of the Year will next compete against other Boys & Girls Clubs members across Tennessee for the state title and a $1,000 college scholarship from Tupperware Brands Corporation and a $5,000 college scholarship from the Tennessee Titans Foundation. State winners move on to vie for the distinction of one of five regional winners across the country, and ultimately those five winners will contend for the title of National Youth of the Year.

A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN to Play Final Broadway Performance at Lyceum Theatre on Feb. 9

The Broadway production of A Night With Janis Joplin will play its final performance on Sunday, February 9 at 7PM at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). On that date, the show will have played 22 preview performances and 141 regular performances. A Night With Janis Joplin will move to a new home in New York City this March.

Patrons of the Unicorn Theatre could feel the anguish of war as they watched it unfold in the Jerome Theatre. Grounded, a play by award winning playwright George Brant opened on Saturday night January 25 at the Unicorn Theatre in Kansas City. The Guardian and London Evening Standard named Grounded one of the Top 10 London Plays of 2013. Elephant's Graveyard, Three Voyages of the Lobotomobile, Defiant, and The Lonesome Hoboes are among his many other plays.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Niko Tsakalakos in The First Snow Record Release Show on January 31 at 11pm. Come celebrate award-winning singer/songwriter Niko Tsakalakos' first live performance marking his debut solo album, The First Snow. Brian Usifer (Music Director, Kinky Boots; Associate Music Supervisor The Book of Mormon) helms a 7 piece band comprised of players from the Kinky Boots orchestra. The concert will also feature special guest artists who will sing some of Niko's original stand-alone theatre songs as well as songs from his new musicals Alexander Supertramp and Pool Boy. D.B. Bonds directs.
