From today, May 10 to June 7, 2014, SpeakEasy Stage Company will present the New England Premiere of one of the most talked-about shows in theatre history: CARRIE the musical.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present a 2010 Pulitzer Prize finalist and a 2010 Tony Nominee for Best Play, In The Next Room or The Vibrator Play by Sarah Ruhl. The smart, touching, and hilarious period play will be directed by MET Associate Artistic Director, Julie Herber. In The Next Room will run every Thursday through Sunday at Maryland Ensemble Theatre from May 30 through June 22, 2014.

Million Dollar Quartet, the musical about an iconic day in the history of music, opens at Tennessee Performing Arts Center this week. In a city so full of music, Million Dollar Quartet is set to fit right in. James Barry plays music legend Carl Perkins in the show and has been kind enough to take some time out of his schedule to answer a few questions for our readers.

Oscar-winning FROZEN songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are reportedly in development on their next project -- a musical titled UP THERE. Deadline writes that Alex Timbers, who is currently helming ROCKY on Broadway, will direct the show, which is scheduled to run at La Jolla Playhouse in California next year.
