RLT Adds HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH to 2014-15 Season

Raleigh Little Theatre today announced that it will produce Hedwig and the Angry Inch in May 2015, replacing Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson in the 2014-2015 City Series. Hedwig, a high-voltage rock musical that won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, will be directed at RLT by Jesse R. Gephart.

Following multiple sold out engagements, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band will return to the intimate Manhattan venue 54 Below on Thursday, February 5th to kick off an official residence for 2015. Tony Award nominee Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, Bonnie & Clyde) and Ciara Rene?e (Pippin, Big Fish) will make their Broadway Big Band debuts, joing a starry list of performers.

Chance Theater will present the world premiere of the bright, imaginative flight of fancy Loch Ness, a new musical. Music and book by Marshall Pailet, lyrics and book by AD. Penedo, with direction by Marshall Pailet, choreography by Kelly Todd and music direction by Mark Sonnenblick. Loch Ness, a new musical will preview from January 30 through February 5, regular performances will begin February 6 and continue through February 28 on the mainstage at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

MCC THEATER has announced complete casting for the New York premiere of Jennifer Haley's The Nether directed by Anne Kaufman. Ben Rosenfield, memorably of the final two seasons of "Boardwalk Empire," and rising talent Sophia Anne Caruso will take on the roles of Woodnut and Iris, respectively. Producers have announced that Ali Ahn will play the role of Susan Johnston, Leighton Bryan will play the roles of Jill/Debbie/Lisa, Elise Kibler will play the roles of Becky/Clara/Denise, and Andy Truschinski will play the roles of Chris Boxer/Mark/Waiter/Ray in the first Broadway revival of the Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning Wendy Wasserstein play The Heidi Chronicles. This will be the Broadway debut for Ahn and Truschinski, and, with the exception of understudy roles, this will also be the Broadway debut for Bryan and Kibler.

Calvin Berger, a modern, musical comedy about a boy, a girl...and a nose, based loosely on the timeless classic Cyrano de Bergerac and set in high school, makes its area premiere in a Minneapolis Musical Theatre (MMT) production running January 23-February 15, 2015 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's New Century Theatre. With book, music and lyrics by the award-winning Barry Wyner, Calvin Berger is directed by Joshua James Campbell working with MMT's new artistic director, Christian Unser. Local actor Gregory Adam stars as Calvin, returning to MMT after his scene-stealing turn as the sexy and conniving Raoul in the recent production of Eating Raoul.

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber have announced the next production in the second season of Chicago's hit 'lost' musicals in staged concert series, Porchlight Revisits... City of Angels, featuring book by Larry Gelbart (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, M*A*S*H), music by Cy Coleman (Sweet Charity, Barnum) and lyrics by David Zippel (The Goodbye Girl, Disney's Mulan) with direction by Christopher Pazdernik and music direction by Aaron Benham. City of Angels is presented for two-nights-only Tuesday, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4 at 8:00 p.m. and is performed on the set of Porchlight's Sondheim on Sondheim (February 6 - March 15) on nights when there are no performances at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave.
