Diane Paulus grew up feeling bad she had missed the 1960s. By age 10, she knew all the songs in Hair by heart, including 'Sodomy.' Having never seen the show, she had an active fantasy life about what Hair must have been like when it was first created. Her vibrant and emotional work in bringing 'her' Hair to life earned her a 2009 Tony Award nomination for Best Direction of A Musical.

Vera is currently the Associate Director of Marketing at Center Theater Group in Los Angeles and was previously the Director of Marketing at Signature Theatre Company in New York. She will assume her new position at The Public on Monday, May 18.

Hamingson) announced complete casting and creative team today for BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON: The Concert Version, the fourth play of the 2008-2009 Public LAB season. Written and directed by Alex Timbers and featuring music and lyrics by Michael Friedman, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON: The Concert Version will begin performances on Tuesday, May 5 and run through Sunday, May 24. Tickets are $10 for all performances and are on-sale now.

Herb Foster will play Valentine; Kevin Kelly will play Sea Captain; Tony nominee Stark Sands will play Sebastian; Baylen Thomas will play Curio; Jon Patrick Walker will play Fabian; and Tony Award winner Julie White will play Maria. The Public Theater Plans Major Renovations

The New York Times reports that the Public Theater is set to undergo major renovations including a mezzanine balcony that projects over the lobby and for the famed outside, a new gradual staircase leading up to the entrance and a glass canopy to shield people from the rain.
