Amas Musical Theatre Announces Free MARRY HARRY Performances, 4/26-28

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present free performances of "Marry Harry", a new musical with book by Jennifer Robbins, music by Dan Martin, lyrics by Michael Biello, directed by Kent Nicholson. The performances will take place on Thursday, April 26th at 4:00pm, Friday, April 27th at 3:00pm and 7:30pm, and Saturday, April 28th at 1:00 pm at Foxwood Rehearsal Studios, 214 West 43rd Street.

Cynthia Nixon Joins Riverside Symphony for Season Finale, 6/5

Special Guest Cynthia Nixon will join Music Director George Rothman and Riverside Symphony in the orchestra's season finale on Wednesday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall. Nixon, one of only 14 artists to win Emmy, Tony and Grammy Awards, will narrate Francis Poulenc's charming musical adaptation of the beloved children's tale The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant.

Lehman Center Presents Gloria Gaynor, Colonel Abrams & The Hit Men, 4/21

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts continues its 31st season with a night of dance hits on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 8pm. One of dance music's biggest stars for over three decades, GRAMMY Award winner GLORIA GAYNOR will perform with a full band. Her 1979 #1 hit, the greatest disco anthem of all time, "I Will Survive," is her signature song of inspiration that has touched the hearts of people all over the world. The song was inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame at this year's ceremony in February. Urban and dance music phenomenon COLONEL ABRAMS will perform his biggest hits, including "Trapped," "I'm Not Gonna Let You" and "How Soon We Forget." Also performing will be THE HIT MEN, a group of six guys who made, played, sang and recorded the hits of the '60s, '70s and '80s. This group features original recording and performing members of such iconic bands as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and Tommy James and The Shondells and the original recording artists of such historic megahits as "Oh What a Night (Dec. '63)," "Sherry," "Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown" and 'Who Loves You."

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts continues its 31st season with the return of legendary salsa pioneers LA SONORA PONCEÑA on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 8pm. With over 40 albums, La Sonora Ponceña has entertained audiences for nearly 60 years. Led by founder Enrique "Quique" Lucca and his son, piano virtuoso "Papo" Lucca, the group is known for such classic hits as "Hachero pa' un palo" and "Fuego en el 23." Enrique "Quique" Lucca recently celebrated his 99th birthday. Also appearing at this concert will be a band that burst onto the Latin music scene, 8 Y MAS, a collaboration of the musicians who have taken salsa back to its original flavor as they play "La musica de ayer, con el sonido de hoy" (yesterday's music with today's sound).

Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, in association with Sal Abbatiello of Fever Records, continues its 31st season with a celebration of 25 years of Freestyle music -- FOREVER FREESTYLE 6 -- on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 8pm. To Latino teenagers in the late '80s and early '90s, Freestyle, a hybrid of Hip Hop and disco, was known simply as 'Our Music.' This year's concert will feature Freestyle artists STEVIE B, CORINA, SAFIRE, CYNTHIA, NOEL, NAYOBE, CORO, FASCINATION, STRAFE and THE VARGAS BROTHERS. The concert will also feature DJ LUCHO and will be hosted by SPEEDY and SAL ABBATIELLO.
