Get ready, Long Island! A Class Act NY is coming back for the ninth successful summer in a row with their award-winning Broadway camp, CAMP ACA, August 22 - 26! Actors ages 7-18 will work with Broadway Star Judine Sommerville (HAIRSPRAY, ON THE TOWN, CRAZY FOR YOU, LATE NITE COMIC) and a professional music director on song and dance combinations from classic and contemporary musicals that will then be performed at the end of the week for family and friends at the JCC's 250 seat theatre! Campers will be grouped according to age. Space is limited!
?Broadway veteran and Tony Award nominee, Adam Pascal (RENT, Aida, Memphis, Disaster) will hold an exclusive masterclass in Montreal for local performers on August 10, 2016. During the workshop, participants will work on musical theatre and pop selections. Enrollment in the master class is extremely limited and open to participants who will each have one-on-one time with Pascal, as well as auditors who can observe and learn from the audience. The masterclass will conclude with a Q & A with Adam along with a short performance.
A Class Act NY, Manhattan's award-winning acting studio for kids and teens, is hosting a SCHOOL OF ROCK workshop with stars of the Broadway cast. In this special session, John Hemphill (MAMMA MIA!, SCHOOL OF ROCK) and Shahadi Wright Joseph (THE LION KING, SCHOOL OF ROCK) will work with students of all skill levels, ages 7-24, on a song and dance combination from the musical. Hemphill will teach the "Guitar Hero" sequence, and Joseph, a student of A Class Act NY and a child star of SCHOOL OF ROCK, will teach a song and dance cut of "Stick it to the Man!"
Broadway Star of HAMILTON, Andrew Chappelle (HAMILTON, MAMMA MIA!, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT) will hold an exclusive masterclass for local performers. Andrew will teach lucky participants a song and dance combo from HAMILTON as well as sharing tricks of the trade for auditioning for musical theatre productions. Enrollment in the master class is extremely limited. The class is also open to auditors who can observe and learn from the audience. The masterclass will conclude with a lively Q & A with Andrew where he will share his experiences in this historic, revolutionary and inspiring new American musical phenomenon! The smash hit musical, HAMILTON is currently running on Broadway and recently won a Grammy Award to Best Musical Theatre Album.

The new musical Hamilton has book, music and lyrics by Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also plays the title role. The musical is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. Hamilton is inspired by Ron Chernow's biography 'Alexander Hamilton.'
