Whelan joins Frantic Assembly from BalletBoyz Ltd and will take up his post in January 2018, working together with Artistic Director and co-founder Scott Graham to bring the company's ambitious plans for the future to fruition.

Sydney Theatre Company is inviting applications from Australia's talented playwrights for the 2017 Patrick White Playwrights' Award and expressions of interest for the Patrick White Playwrights' Fellowship. The prizes are designed to benefit both emerging and established writers and have a total prize pool of $32,500.

Full casting has been announced for Frantic Assembly and State Theatre Company South Australia's critically acclaimed Things I Know To Be True ahead of its visit to Storyhouse in Chester from 7 November 2017.

State Theatre Company might be starting 2018 in London but will end the year in Port Pirie with its largest ever state-wide touring program taking productions to 14 venues across South Australia.

Two for one is more commonly applied to tickets at the Fringe rather than the plays themselves. Evidently keen to push against such boundaries, Doughnut Productions have taken a play by Andrew Bovell and separated it into two productions.  Running in tandem with a linked piece Speaking in Tongues: The Lies at the same venue, this part of the play depicts a series of relationships around the central event of the disappearance of psychiatrist Valerie Summers.
