The critically acclaimed play Little Murders by Jules Feiffer comes to Brooklyn 50 years after its premiere in a new production directed by Shira Milikowsy (The Lily's Revenge at American Repertory Theater). This production, which began its life at Harvard University in 2014, catapults the play into our present political and cultural landscape, hinting towards a dystopian future that feels all too possible.

Book-It Repertory Theatre will bring magic, adventure, and inspiration this holiday season with Howl's Moving Castle, a new musical based on an original book by Diana Wynne Jones. Founding Co-Artistic Director Myra Platt will adapt and direct the musical stage adaptation of the award-winning fantasy novel and local actor Justin Huertas will write music and lyrics.

Led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing Director Roberta Pereira, The Playwrights Realm kicks off their 2017-18 season with the World Premiere of Michael Yates Crowley's The Rape of the Sabine Women, By Grace B. Matthias (August 25 - September 23) at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project. Directed by Tyne Rafaeli, this complex collision of satire and dark comedy fearlessly explores rape culture in America and was previously developed as part of The Realm's 2014-15 Writing Fellowship.

Harvard University's ART Institute, the university's graduate-level theater program within the American Repertory Theater, recently announced a three-year admissions suspensions while administrators implement a strategic plan to stabilize the troubled program. On July 30, the A.R.T. Institute Alumni Association sent a letter to the leaders of the Institute criticizing Diane Paulus's 'little respect or interest in the program' and 'negligence in her duty to the Institute.'

As summer decides on whether to stick around or not, American Repertory Theater of WNY will come out of the company's season hiatus with one of the first events of the 2017-18 season. August will feature a two-evening stage reading of Mark Humphrey's AN INQUIRY INTO THE FATE OF THE U.S.S. PEQUOD at the company's 330 Amherst location. The reading will feature Buffalo actor Stan Klimecko and the return on Jack Hunter as he will share his directorial eye with the project. .
