Highland Park Players to Host Workshop Series Directed by Dominic Missimi

Highland Park Players is holding a workshop series on THE GLORIOUS BROADWAY MUSICAL featuring professor and professional director, Dominic Missimi Founder of Northwestern Music Theatre Program, Marriott Theatre Director of 35 productions, Founder of Northwestern's American Music Theatre Project and 17 year director of Northwestern's famed Waa-Mu Show.

NJPAC & Johnny Mercer Foundation Selects 5 New Jersey Middle Schools for Theater Program

Celebrating their fifth year of introducing New Jersey middle school students to the magic of musical theater, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and The Johnny Mercer Foundation (JMF) announced that five new schools and two new teaching artists have joined this year's program.  The Johnny Mercer Foundation/NJPAC Musical Theater Residency Program offers students, in grades 6 to 8, an immersive study of the history of the American musical and the essential tools to create their own musical.  

Six Emerging Artists Named 2017 Jonathan Larson Grant Recipients

The American Theatre Wing announced today that the 2017 Jonathan Larson Grants recipients are Ben Bonnema (book, music and lyrics), Maggie-Kate Coleman & Erato A. Kremmyda (music and lyrics), Ty Defoe & Tidtaya Sinutoke (book, music and lyrics), and Michael R. Jackson (book, music and lyrics).

Fred Ebb Foundation Donates Over $1.6 Million to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids

The Fred Ebb Foundation has announced that its 2016 donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will total $1.675 million dollars, bringing the foundation's total contribution to BC/EFA to $13.325 million since it began 12 years ago. The foundation, which is funded by royalties from the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb's vast catalogue of work, makes an annual donation to BC/EFA.

12th Annual Fred Ebb Award Presented Tonight to Thomas Mizer & Curtis Moore

The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell S. Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will present the twelfth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Thomas Mizer and Curtis Moore, tonight from 6-8pm at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, will be presented by Marin Mazzie and Jason Danieley.

The Armory's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS Introduces Audrey!

Portland Center Stage at The Armory's 2016-2017 season kicks off with the hilarious and rockin' sci-fi musical, Little Shop of Horrors, based on the film by Roger Corman, with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken. The demonic plant will take over the U.S. Bank Main Stage with preview performances beginning September 10; an opening night on September 16; and performances running through October 16. Bill Fennelly directs a cast featuring Nick Cearley, Gina Milo, Jamison Stern, Chaz Rose, David Meyers, Ebony Blake, Johari Nandi and Alexis Tidwell.
