Philly's biggest rock band turns it on again in POPS Rocks Phil Collins, March 6-8, 2020.

Subjects from aliens to opera will be explored through dance when Hammer Theatre Center presents New Ballet's Fast Forward, an exhilarating evening of contemporary ballet highlighting the innovative works of rising local and national choreographers. In this dynamic performance, New Ballet's gifted dance artists bring each choreographer's creative vision to life in a lively and fast-paced evening.

ABT does the melodrama of 'Giselle' with an acute attention to detail, diversity and dramatic flair.

GINGER THATCHER, former principal dancer of the Cleveland Ballet, will be a guest teacher from March 23-27, 2020, and VIOLETA ANGELOVA, former principal dancer of the Suzanne Farrell Ballet, will be a guest teacher from July 20-August 1, 2020 at the Goh Ballet Academy. Ms. Thatcher will be a guest teacher for the New a?" Spring Performance Workshop, and Ms. Angelova will be a member of the faculty for the International Summer Intensive.

Exploring the breadth and depth of American dance, Segerstrom Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a diverse lineup of programming this Spring. It all begins with the World Premiere of American Ballet Theatre's new work from ABT Artist-in-Residence Alexei Ratmansky titled Of Love and Rage.

The Board of the Museum of Performance + Design takes great pleasure in announcing that San Francisco Ballet Artistic Director and Principal Choreographer Helgi Tomasson will be presented with the 2020 San Francisco Arts Medallion for his outstanding leadership in the arts on April 23, 2020, at Saint Joseph's Arts Society in San Francisco. The San Francisco Arts Medallion was created in 2005 by the Museum of Performance + Design (MP+D) to recognize those individuals whose leadership, action, and generosity have benefited the cultural life of the San Francisco Bay Area. Proceeds from the event benefit the preservation and educational programs at MP+D.

The New York City Gay Men's Chorus (NYCGMC) and Youth Pride Chorus, today announced that HARMONY, the annual Valentine's Day fundraiser that supports NYCGMC and Youth Pride Chorus, will honor the legendary Our Lady J and the #BoysDanceToo movement with Robbie Fairchild, Sam Quinn, Travis Wall, Charlie Williams and Alex D. Wong. Entertainment at the February 14th event will feature four Broadway heartthrobs Henry Gottfried (Waitress), Adam Hyndman (Hadestown, Once on This Island), Devin Ilaw (Miss Saigon, Les Misérables), and Vishal Vaidya (Groundhog Day) at Current, Pier 59.

Laissez les bon temps rouler! Segerstrom Center for the Arts announced today, Mardi Gras is heading to the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza in a festive evening of FREE New Orleans-style revelry.

Founding Artistic and Executive Directors Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson founded Complexions Contemporary Ballet in 1994. Richardson enjoyed a stellar performing career, having danced with numerous prestigious dance companies, including American Ballet Theatre where he was the first African American principal dancer, as well as Broadway shows. Rhoden, who is the principal choreographer of Complexions, has danced with contemporary and jazz companies and has become a sought-after choreographer.

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) returns to the Auditorium Theatre with Celebrating 80 Years! from March 19-22, 2020, the second engagement in the Company's four-year residency at the National Historic Landmark. The Company celebrates its 80th anniversary with a mixed repertory program featuring works from throughout its history, showcasing the best in classic and contemporary ballet.

Many of New York City and the country's most renowned dancers and dance companies including American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and Zoey Anderson from Parsons Dance performed on Monday, January 27 at 7:30pm at The Joyce Theater (175 8th Avenue) at the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation's (Founder/Executive Director Joe Lanteri) DESTINY RISING, an evening of dance artistry to benefit the NYCDA Foundation College Scholarship Program which to date has awarded over $3 million in college scholarships to over 300 dancers all over the country (in 2019, NYCDAF awarded a total of $470,000 in scholarships). There was $88k in scholarships awarded on 1/27 to nine dancers: $6,000 each to Megan Nee (FL), Kaitlyn Bien (IL) and Tyler Burden (NY); $8,000 each to Sophia Borgarello (TX), Carly Bocchino (FL) and Anna Bermudez (FL); $14,000 each to Kelis Robinson (Canada and Joey Gertin (Canada); and $18,000 to Sydney Revennaugh (FL). They also received Summer Study Scholarships to Steps on Broadway and Peridance Capezio

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced that Principal Dancer Guillaume Côté will make his debut with New York City Ballet (NYCB) as a Guest Artist in Swan Lake on Friday, February 14. Mr. Côté will dance the role of Prince Siegfried, partnering with NYCB Principal Dancer Sara Mearns as Odette/Odile. Mr. Côté replaces NYCB Principal Dancer Tyler Angle, who is unable to perform due to injury. Ms. Mearns and Mr. Côté will also dance the roles on Sunday, February 16 at 2:00 pm.

BalletX, led by Artistic & Executive Director Christine Cox, presents Spring Series 2020 at The Wilma Theater, a limited engagement of 13 performances, running March 18-29, 2020.

American Repertory Ballet (ARB) soars into the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center with one of the most romantic and enduring ballet masterpieces, Giselle, for four performances over Valentine's Day weekend, February 14 - 16.

The Auditorium Theatre's Visiting Resident Company Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to Chicago March 4-8, 2020 with Midwest premieres, Chicago premieres, and new productions of classic works.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts proudly presents the World Premiere of American Ballet Theatre's Of Love and Rage, a new work choreographed by ABT Artist-in-Residence and MacArthur Genius Alexei Ratmansky. Sets and costumes are by award-winning designer Jean-Marc Puissant, with lighting by designer Duane Schuler. Inspired from the first century Greek novel, Callirhoe, the libretto for Of Love and Rage was adapted by actor, director, screenwriter and Molière Award winner Guillaume Gallienne. The ballet is set to music by Aram Khachaturian with arrangements by Philip Feeney and performed live by Pacific Symphony. There will be five performances: March 5 a?" 8, 2020 in Segerstrom Hall. The ballet will have its New York Premiere during ABT's 2020 Metropolitan Opera House season June 2 a?" 6.

Individually, Beiser and Whelan captivated - Whelan walking contemplatively across the stage, Beiser seated in a power stance, limbs enfolding her cello. Together, they grounded the work's multi-disciplinary, hybrid structure with their various expertise along the spectrum of creative function. As a primer on post-modern movement built on a neo-classical ballerina and a musical marathon fusing classicism, romanticism, and modernism into a dense score, these artists triumphed despite navigating a heavily nuanced, deeply detailed construction.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, and Executive Director Barry Hughson today announced that Alexei Ratmansky's new full-length work, Of Love and Rage, will be a co-production between the National Ballet and American Ballet Theatre (ABT). The world premiere will be performed by ABT at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California, March 5 - 8, 2020. ABT will reprise the work at New York's Metropolitan Opera House June 2 - 6, 2020. Of Love and Rage will make its Canadian premiere during the National Ballet's 2021/22 season in Toronto.

As American Ballet Theatre celebrates the 80th Anniversary of its founding in January of 1940, Company dancers and staff joined together to contribute 80 hours of service to the New York Cares Coat Drive, giving back to the city that has been home and headquarters to America's National Ballet Company® for eight decades.
