The Tony Award nominated Broadway musical Bring It On The Musical, a universal coming-of-age story that mixes competitive cheerleading, high school politics and teenage romance.
There's an explosion of spirit and - yes - 'cheer face' at Southwark Playhouse, hosting the long-awaited UK premiere of this 2011 musical; last year's national tour was sadly postponed.
But Ewan Jones's dynamic British Theatre Academy production, with its minimal scenery and tight ensemble perfectly filling a midsize space, suggests it's the ideal piece to go on the road - not to mention its timely, uplifting message of inclusion.
FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, again presents a cast of Harvard and Yale grads in The Fourth Annual Harvard-Yale Cantata. Join us for a unique evening at Feinstein's/54 Below, with Team Harvard looking to avenge another lucky one-point victory by Team Yale, who won in HY III for the second year in a row by a score of 32-31. Last year wasn't a pure win for Yale, as they were buoyed by some great songs and performances from their Princeton teammates. Harvard was bogged down (they say) by being paired with Columbia. No excuses in HY IV, as we're back to a straight up Harvard v. Yale competition.

This Friday (June 29), Spiegeltent at Bard SummerScape welcomes Emmy, Obie, Outer Critics Circle award winner and three-time Tony Award nominee Martha Plimpton (The Goonies, The Real O'Neals) with her acclaimed cabaret show "All The Presidents Mann." In the spirit of Independence Day, Plimpton and her brilliant musical director Dan Lipton (The Last Ship, The Other Josh Cohen, Kelli O'Hara) pay tribute to genius songwriter Aimee Mann, dedicating songs to some of their most (and least) favorite U.S. Presidents. With wit, charm, and vocal prowess, Plimpton and Lipton lead their audience through a minefield of love, loss, and electoral misjudgment, with the music of one of America's greatest living songwriters.
