Jared Zirilli has joined the cast of The Civilians' world premiere production Pretty Filthy, BroadwayWorld has confirmed.

The Civilians' world premiere production Pretty Filthy kicks off the 100th anniversary celebration of the Playhouse at Abrons Arts Center. The Civilians is known for its singular approach to making what it calls 'investigative theater,' a process in which the show's creators immerse themselves in a subject matter, conducting extensive interviews and research. This brand of journalistic theater-making enables the company to tackle complex subjects with intelligence, humanity and humor.

THE SONGWRITERS' SALON, produced by Write Act Rep, John Lant Producing Artistic Director, and conceived and Directed by Colton Pometta, is a cabaret series that will feature 3-5 musical theatre composers and lyricists on the first Thursday of each month. The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the winners of the NYMF 2014 Awards for Excellence. Awards are voted on by the NYMF jury and the awards were presented at the closing night celebration on July 27th at Arena Events Space.

Academia Nuts has book and lyrics by Becca Anderson & Dan Marshall, and music by Julian Blackmore, with direction by Thomas Caruso, musical direction by Martyn Axe, and choreography by Ryan Kasprzak. The Kleban Foundation's 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Nathan Tysen and the 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Arthur Perlman.The 2014 prizes were presented last night, June 23, 2014, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI.
