Passion, seduction, athletics and culture collide on the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University stage when Brazil's premiere dance company Grupo Corpo make their Chicago debut February 28 and March 1, 2015.

Feinstein's at the Nikko announced today the lineup for their "City Singers" series for the months of March and April. The lineup includes jazz singer Opie Bellas, San Francisco's favorite crooner, Russ Lorenson and French chanteuse Betty Roi. Additional performers will be announced at a later date.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world's most popular dance companies, will travel to 18 cities coast-to-coast presenting 80 performances, including a performance Tuesday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. at The Bushnell's Mortensen Hall in Hartford. Garth Fagan, Tony Award winner for "Best Choreography" in The Lion King, founder and artistic director of Garth Fagan Dance, is receiving the Apple Award from Wayne State University's Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance. "A Conversation with Apple Award Recipient Garth Fagan" will be hosted at the Berman Center for the Performing Arts on March 28 at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Fagan will appear in an "actors studio" style interview and question-and-answer session.

In a career spanning more than four decades, the contemporary American choreographer Karole Armitage has been celebrated for blurring the boundaries between dance, music and art. Inspired by disparate, non-narrative sources—from 20th century physics, to 16th century Florentine fashion, to pop culture and new media—the classical dance vocabulary, in her hands, is given a needed shock to its system with speed and fractured lines, abstractions and symmetry countermanded by asymmetry.

A pack of wolves in a jungle located in India raise a little boy with his pals: a bear and a black panther. The boy's adventures include fighting a tiger, being abducted by monkeys, and returning to the human village. This wonderful tale is based on “The Jungle Book,” a collection of stories by English author Rudyard Kipling, and provides the basis for “Mowgli,” a full-length ballet performed by the Roxey Ballet.

American Repertory Ballet will present the world premiere of Douglas Martin's full two-act A Midsummer Night's Dream this weekend, February 26 and 27, 2015 at State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ.
