Berklee College of Music professors Mark Simos and Scarlet Keys will take the stage at Club Passim today, January 29th for an evening  exploring songwriting. Both have recently released highly regarded textbooks on  songwriting styles and techniques. Singer-songwriter Sam Robbins, a Berklee student, who appeared last fall on NBC's The Voice, and other special guests will provide performances and demonstrations throughout the evening.

April 12 marks the release of Acoustic Space, the first full-length installment in The Invisible Light trilogy helmed by Grammy- and Oscar-winning producer T Bone Burnett in collaboration with Jay Bellerose and Keefus Ciancia. The albums explore the idea that society has been subject to over a century of electronic programming, a “programming pandemic,” which is causing us to lose our ability to differentiate fact from fiction. Burnett describes the trilogy as “an experimental song cycle” which consists of a single piece of poetry broken down into distinct songs. The Invisible Light: Acoustic Space track “Being There” premieres today, listen/share HERE. Montana-based Americana/folk singer-songwriter Martha Scanlan is set to release her fourth album, The River and The Light, on October 19, 2018 via Rock Ridge Music.  Full of moments of profound intimacy and belonging, the album hosts some of the finest writing yet from the award-winning Scanlan. CMT today revealed an all-star tribute to country legend and 2018 “Artist of a Lifetime” Award recipient, Loretta Lynn, featuring Sheryl Crow, Dierks Bentley and Martina McBride. The trio will perform LIVE from Nashville at the 9th annual “2018 CMT Artists of the Year” special on Wednesday, October 17 at 8:00pm ET/PT. Some of music's biggest stars are set to present at the event, including Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Smokey Robinson, singer-songwriter Elle King, Hillary Scott, Jimi Westbrook, Phillip Sweet, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, along with a special introduction by platinum-selling artist, Trisha Yearwood.
