Animus Theatre Company (Jonathan Judge-Russo, Founding Artistic Director), are thrilled to welcome Sarah Utterback of ABC's hit primetime TV drama 'Grey's Anatomy' and Jessica Pimentel of Netflix's 'Orange Is the New Black' to the New York premiere of Surfer Girl, part of Leslye Headland's 'Sin Cycle Plays.' Presented at The Foley Gallery (59 Orchard Street, between Grand and Hester) on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 7:00pm (doors open 7:00pm, performance begins 7:30pm), the New York premiere of Surfer Girl runs through May 30, 2018.

MTV and Gunpowder & Sky, the global content studio, announced today the next generation stunt series, 'Too Stupid To Die', developed in conjunction with YouTube banned, online sensation and daredevil, Zach Holmes. Packed with bizarre pranks, hilarious comedy and outrageous stunts, 'Too Stupid To Die' is the story of a backyard stunt family making a name for themselves with nothing but blood, sweat and fearlessness. The eight-part, half-hour series is set to premiere in June.

Casting has been announced for the World Premiere of THE BABY DANCE: MIXED, a new adaptation by Emmy Award-winner JANE ANDERSON ('Olive Kitteridge') of her acclaimed 2004 play The Baby Dance. A drama delicately laced with comic overtones, THE BABY DANCE: MIXED is a compelling and urgent play about race, class, and wanting the perfect child.

The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) and the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) tonight announced the winners of the 2018 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, videogames, news, radio/audio, promotional, and graphic animation categories at concurrent ceremonies at the Edison Ballroom in New York City and The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

A week ago, the artists of Rubicon Theatre of Ventura were in final dress rehearsals for the first show of the company's 20th Anniversary Season - an original adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol by Producing Artistic Director Karyl Lynn Burns. The next day, rehearsals came to a halt when the electricity went out in the building; staff, cast and crew were evacuated, and fires throughout the area came within blocks of the theatre. The Thomas Fire, as it has come to be called, has since engulfed more than 230,000 acres and destroyed more than 500 homes and structures in the area (135 in the City of Ventura). At this time, the fire is 15% contained. Recognizing that the whole community is affected and that local support must go to basic needs in Ventura, Rubicon is reaching out across the nation to ask for support from other theatre communities.
