Topeka Civic Theatre, the beloved dinner theatre of Topeka, KS, undertook what is arguably the most difficult script of contemporary theatre: a script that necessitates precision timing, a crumbling set, and a laugh on every line. Director Shannon J. Reilly delivers beautifully.

Written by renowned playwright Horton Foote, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL is a moving story of family, reminiscing on things that once were, and longing for home. For Carrie Watts, her home is in Bountiful not in a cramped apartment in Houston where she lives with her son and daughter-in-law. As the play progresses, the idea of home is questioned as the characters discover home might mean something a little different than what they once thought.

BWW Interview: Broadway Academy of Performing Open Registration for DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Broadway Academy of Performing, a kid's theatre camp hosted by Newman University Theatre Department, is now accepting registrations. The camp dates will be June 10th through 17th at Newman University in Wichita, KS. Kids ages 11-20 are eligible, and campers under 11 years can be day campers. The campers will arrive the afternoon of the 10th, audition and rehearse all week for this year's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The musical, based on the animated feature of 1991, has music by Menken, Ashman and Rice, and features such delightful songs as "Be Our Guest" and "Something There." Broadway Academy of Performing is celebrating its 20th year, and this is the third at Newman University.
