The Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, which for 36 years has presented summer chamber music concerts on Long Island's East End, will this year present Summer Festival at Home: five hour-long programs premiering on consecutive Sundays at 6:30 pm beginning July 26 on the BCMF YouTube channel and remaining available for one week.

With the spirit of hope driving forward plans for the future, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts has established Hope @ The Wallis, which includesthe announcement by Artistic Director Paul Crewes of the appointment of virtuoso violinist and consummate musician Daniel Hope as The Wallis' next Artist-In-Residence in collaboration with the New Century Chamber Orchestra. In addition, a major resiliency campaign and community match/challenge to support The Wallis' performing arts offerings was announced by Rachel Fine, Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today unveiled the 2020/21 season which builds on the company's commitment to create new works, attract the best artists in the world and showcase the company on the international stage. The season features the world premiere of MADDADDAM, a new full-length ballet by the multi-award-winning choreographer Wayne McGregor in collaboration with internationally renowned writer Margaret Atwood. Additional highlights include the North American premiere of Victoria, created by acclaimed choreographer Cathy Marston, and a guest appearance by San Francisco Ballet in its Toronto debut. Electric & Eclectic on Wednesday February 26, 2020 will include works by two renowned composers and an emerging Canadian composer, as well as solo performances. American composer John Adams' work Son of Chamber Symphony is a riveting score that changes meters rapidly and scurries all over the place. Also on the program is the World Premiere of James O'Callaghan's Not non-other, and Alfred Schnittke's Concerto Grosso No. 1 for two violins, harpsichord, prepared piano and string orchestra with Marie Bérard and Stephen Sitarski as violin soloists and Stephen Clarke on harpsichord and prepared piano.

The Montclair Orchestra presents its mid-winter concert on January 31st at 8:00 p.m., an exploration of the baroque style of 'concerto grosso', in which a small group of soloists plays with a larger ensemble. The exploration starts from the traditional baroque-classical music of J. S. Bach, but then jumps forward two centuries to rediscover the form as presented by Stravinsky and Schnittke in the 20th century.

Lincoln Center Extends Mostly Mozart Festival Music Director Louis Langrée's Contract Through 2023

On the eve of the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra's (MMFO) opening performances at the 2019 Mostly Mozart Festival, Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss has announced that Lincoln Center has extended the contract of Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree through the summer of 2023. Langree has held the position since 2003, fostering the Festival Orchestra's profile as an established ensemble and steadfast presence on the Lincoln Center campus, furthering its scope of repertoire beyond music of the classical era, and heightening its reputation as one of America's premier chamber orchestras. Langree made his Mostly Mozart Festival debut in 1998 and began his tenure as music director in 2003. 2023 will be his twenty-first season in the role. American Express is the lead sponsor of the Mostly Mozart Festival.
