JAG Productions Presents Lanie Robertson's LADY DAY AT EMERSON'S BAR & GRILL

JAG Productions (Vermont's one and only award-winning, professional African-American Theatre company!), will present, the profound jazz musical, Lady Day  Emerson's Bar & Grill by Lanie Robertson. The show will be run from May 24th-May 27th at the Engine Room in White River Junction, May 31st-June 3rd at The Grange Theater in Pomfret and June 7-10 at Main Street Landing's Black Box Theater in Burlington, VT. Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill will be directed by JAG Productions' Founder & Producing Artistic Director, Jarvis Antonio Green.

HSA Theatre Alliance Launches 2018 Season With A New Production Of MACBETH

On Friday, March 9, students enrolled in the theater and acting programs at the famed Harlem School of the Arts, under the guidance of Alfred Preisser, Artistic Director & Chair of the Theatre Department, will launch the 2018 theater season with a production of Shakespeare's MACBETH. For two consecutive weekends on Friday and Saturdays at 7:00 PM, and on Sundays at 3:00 PM, March 9 - 18, at HSA Theatre, 649 Saint Nicholas Avenue.

Harlem School of The Arts & Actress Tamara Tuni Announce New Musical Based on ALICE IN WONDERLAND

JAZZLAND: in Concert, a new musical inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, and set in Harlem, circa the 1930s at the height of the Harlem Renaissance, will begin rehearsals in March, and is scheduled for a limited run at the HSA Theatre, 649 Saint Nicholas Avenue, in New York City.  Performances are scheduled for two consecutive weekends, beginning on Friday, May 11 through Sunday, May 20.

Join Dance/NYC for Disability Dance Artistry Conversation Series

Please join Dance/NYC for a series of conversations about integrated and disability dance artistry, dance made and performed by and with disabled dancers. Organized around New York City metropolitan area performance activity at the nexus of disability and dance, the series features leading artists working at that nexus in conversation with their presenters. The goals of the series are to drive awareness and interest in dance made by and with disabled artists, capture and share lessons learned by featured artists, and generate dialogue and partnerships among attendees. Featured artists are grantees of Dance/NYC's Disability. Dance. Artistry. Fund, created to advance dance making by and with disabled artists.

On Monday, October 31, 2016, Harlem School of the Arts (HSA) hosted its annual gala benefit to support the school's year-round visual and performing arts programming and initiatives. Riant Theatre Announces 2016 Pioneer of the Arts Award Winners

The Riant Theatre (Van Dirk Fisher, Artistic Director), a nonprofit theatre supporting playwrights and theatremakers of diverse cultural backgrounds, is holding the Launch Party for its annual Strawberry One-Act and Theatre Festival on Saturday, June 25, 2016, 3pm at the Poet's Den Theatre (309 East 108th Street, NYC). The evening will include the presentation of 2016 Pioneer of the Arts Award For Outstanding Achievement In Television and Theatre to the Emmy-winning stage, film and TV actor Joe Morton, Tony Nominee and eight time AUDELCO Award winner, Andre De Shields, the acclaimed Broadway and television actress Barbara Montgomery, and multiple Grammy Award winner, Broadway musical director and arranger Chapman Roberts. A reception with food, drinks and dancing will follow. Tickets ($50 before June 15th; $60 after that date) are available through The Riant Theatre's website (www.therianttheatre.com) and by calling the box office at 646-623-3488.
