Roundabout Theatre Company is presenting the world premiere of the new musical Death Takes a Holiday, with a book by Peter Stone & Thomas Meehan, music & lyrics by Maury Yeston, and directed by Doug Hughes. Death Takes a Holiday is based on the dramatic play by Alberto Casella, rewritten for the American stage by Walter Ferris, and originally produced by Messrs. Shubert. The Drama League has announced the rosters of stars who will appear as presenters at The 77th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Friday, May 20, 2011 (noon) in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square (1535 Broadway at 46th Street). The ceremony will be hosted by Kathleen Turner (High).
Roundabout Theatre Company's production of the new musical, Death Takes a Holiday will begin performances on Friday, June 10, 2011 and open officially on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). Death Takes a Holiday will play a limited engagement through September 4, 2011. This production marks the second time a new musical has been presented in this theatrical space, following the recent production of The Tin Pan Alley Rag.

Q: How did you get started in acting?
A: I was one of those freakish kids who always knew that this was what I wanted to do. I remember being five and saying to a group of grown-ups that I wanted to be an actor and they all chortled as they looked at each other. Probably in horror. There was maybe a week I wanted to be a fireman.

It's been over two years since I finished the first draft of The Dream of the Burning Boy in a graduate play-writing class at NYU, and I'm absolutely thrilled that we're now one week away from the first public performance of the play at the Roundabout Underground.
