Drunk Musicals Opens New Season with DRUNKINTOWN: THE VERY DRUNK MUSICAL

Drunk Musicals is celebrating its one year anniversary in the cabaret circuit opening its season with Drunkintown: The Very Drunk Musical. Drunkintown is a parody of the musical Urinetown, and will include some of your favorite tunes, but with a political twist. Colin Anderson (currently in the Off-Broadway production of Sweeney Todd) will be leading the cast in the role of Bobby Stronger, followed by Lexi Seminario as Hope.

Deconstructing theatrical and literary conventions - meaning, syntax, and creation of language as well as the form and content of Dadaism, these fantastic artists explore what it is to be a female in society.

New Revival of Leslye Headland's BACHELORETTE To Transform Walkerspace

Carly J. Bauer Productions and Mark Brystowski in association with the Untitled Theatre Collective has announced that it will stage a revival of Leslye Headland's pitch-black comedy BACHELORETTE - and in doing so, transform elements of Walkerspace into a hedonistic hotel. BACHELORETTE made its world premiere at Second Stage Uptown and subsequently inspired the hit film produced by Will Ferrell & Adam McKay. It will run Thursday, September 8 through Saturday, September 17 at Walkerspace, 46 Walker St. in Manhattan. Hannah T. Wolff will direct. www.bacheloretteplay.com

Drama Learning Center Presents Sweeney Todd, Closes 1/23

Teaching Young Actors, DLC's Teen Professional Company, will be presenting the Stephen Sondheim musical thriller, Sweeney Todd, thru January 23. The show is directed by Stephanie Lynn Williams (DLC's owner and artistic director), with music direction by Tiffany Underwood Holmes, and choreography by Jenny Male.

Fresh off of Broadway, 13, the musical will premiere with a local cast at the Drama Learning Center in Columbia, MD. This rock musical, performed by Teaching Young Actors, DLC's Teen Professional Company, follows Evan Goldman, a nice Jewish boy from NYC's upper eastside who is forced to move to Indiana with his mother after his parents get a divorce.
