ABC-Owned Stations Renew WHEEL OF FORTUNE, JEOPARDY Through 2016

Syndication's top-rated game shows WHEEL OF FORTUNE and JEOPARDY! were renewed by the ABC Owned Television Stations Group through the 2015-2016 season, it was announced today by Joe DiSalvo, President of Sales for CBS Television Distribution.

JEOPARDY! host Alex Trebek advances to Germany after spending four days with troops and military families stationed in Italy as part of his 13th USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour. Having met with more than 300 U.S. Sailors, Airmen and their families, Trebek will continue his search to find military contestants to participate in Jeopardy!'s "Salute to the Military" week in 2013.

Elaine Stewart, the actress whose many credits include 'Young Bess' and 'Brigadoon,' passed away yesterday due to a long illness. She was 81 years old.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 38th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards. PBS led the nominations with 57, followed by ABC with 56. Amongst the most nominated shows were General Hospital (21), The Young and the Restless (20), Sesame Street (16), The Bold and the Beautiful (14), All My Children (13) and The Ellen DeGeneres Show and One Life to Live (12). Also amongst the nominations were Bill Sherman (composer) and Chris Jackson (lyricist) for Sesame Street's original song 'What I Am' and Chris Jackson on his own for Sesame Street's 'Rakhi Road'.
