The producers of the audience and critics' favorite Peter and the Starcatcher announced today that Steve Rosen, who stepped in to play the role of Black Stache for certain performances during the show's Off-Broadway run at NYTW, will again step into the show, this time to take over the role of Smee, on Monday, July 8. Kevin Del Aguila will play his last performance on Sunday, July 7, before joining the cast of Love's Labours Lost at The Public Theater. Del Aguila returns to Peter and the Starcatcher onAugust 26.

Three world premieres, seven productions in all, are scheduled for the 10th season at the Douglas. The works range from a new rock musical to a sweeping new drama to a masterful interpretation of the works of Beckett, plus the bonus option of The Second City's one-of-a-kind Christmas show. In addition, three Los Angeles solo artists will be presented in the popular DouglasPlus program, and will represent CTG in the Radar L.A. festival.

If you happen to be in the Chattanooga area, and are looking for something different to do, head over to the Chattanooga Theatre Center to catch their latest production, Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson. Not your typical trip to the theatre by any means, Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson is an emo-rock musical that is not for the easily offended. Basically, this ain't your grandma's musical.

The concert will feature Julia Mattison (Godspell), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening), Lisa Brescia (Wicked, Mama Mia), Andrew Kober (Hair) and F. Michael Haynie (Wicked, Dogfight). Kathy Evans, Founder and Executive Director, announced the nine musicals and eighteen writers selected for the third summer of the Rhinebeck Writers Retreat. For nine consecutive weeks beginning today, June 23rd, each writing team will have an individual weeklong residency in Rhinebeck, New York to write their musical. All costs are fully funded by donors including The ASCAP Foundation, The Dramatists Guild Fund, and The Noel Coward Foundation. Writers include Tony-winners and nominees Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), and Heidi Rodewald and Stew (Passing Strange), and multi-award winners Adam Gwon, Laura Harrington, Joe Iconis, Kait Kerrigan, and Brian Lowdermilk.

New Ohio Theatre and Artistic Director Robert Lyons will host a Sunset Benefit Cocktail Party, celebrating 20 years of presenting some of the most innovative and cutting-edge downtown theatre in their Obie Award-winning Ice Factory summer festival. The event takes place tonight, June 20 from 7pm - 10pm on the rooftop of the historic Archive Building at 666 Greenwich Street in the West Village.

Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company will produce five works, including a special, student-devised production, a rock musical and a famous Irish play, in the 2013-2014 season. The season begins Oct. 18 and runs through April 19, 2014.

According to Variety, Disney Theatrical Productions is exploring the idea of briging a live stage show featuring the Muppets to Broadway. A showcase was held on May 31 at the New Amsterdam Theatre with direction by Alex Timbers. Over 85 Muppets were used in the experimental project, which was held to determine if it would be possible to accommodate ' puppetry needs with audience sightlines and all the other physical demands of legit theater.'

The rock musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, which was seen on Broadway in 2010, will receive its Hampton Roads regional debut in a new immersive production at the The Generic Theater in downtown Norfolk, VA this fall.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced a one week extension today for the new Public Lab musical VENICE, with book by Eric Rosen, music by Matt Sax, lyrics by Matt Sax and Eric Rosen, additional music by Curtis Moore, and choreography by Chase Brock. Directed by Eric Rosen, VENICE began performances on Tuesday, May 28 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, June 23. It will now run an additional week through Sunday, June 30.
