Northrop Presents Paul Taylor Dance Company

Throughout his remarkable 64-year career, Paul Taylor was a trail-blazer in the world of modern dance. When he died in 2018 at age 88, he left behind a legacy of masterworks unrivaled by any other modern dance artist. His life and legacy are the focus of The Celebration Tour, coming to Northrop on Sat, Mar 21. While presenters worldwide have been honoring Taylor with different versions of The Celebration Tour, Northrop's program reveals the incredible range of this legendary choreographer in three masterfully crafted and emotionally powerful works, demonstrating Taylor's keen understanding of a?oethe light and the darka?? of the human experience, performed by many of the dancers who completely embody his style.

The Rose Art Museum Has Announced a Gift of 50 Important Works on Paper from Collector Stephen Salny

The Rose Art Museum has announced the gift of 50 works on paper from Baltimore-based collector Stephen Salny. This gift includes pieces by some of today's leading artists and significantly includes a number of works by Ellsworth Kelly, as well as pieces by Anni Albers, Josef Albers, Sonia Delaunay, Helen Frankenthaler, Damien Hirst, Jasper Johns, Alex Katz, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Motherwell, Richard Serra, and Frank Stella. Many of the works enrich already existing clusters of work by the same artists while others are new to the Rose's permanent collection.

Orchestra Of St. Luke's Launches Bach Festival

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) today announced a new initiative, a three-week, multi-disciplinary Bach Festival featuring 15 concerts across three venues in Manhattan, June 6-22, 2019. The programmatic centerpieces include performances by Paul Taylor Dance Company and the Goldberg Variations, which receives two interpretations - including the U.S. premiere of Bernard Labadie's orchestral setting - and provides the Festival theme: 'Transformation.'

WORLD OF DANCE Season Two Champion Crowned

 THE LAB from West Covina, CA were named the winners of NBC's “World of Dance” Season 2, receiving a life-altering grand prize of $1 million and the title of BEST DANCERS IN THE WORLD. The Junior Team impressed judges with a strong performance to Missy Elliot's “Work It” and a heartfelt performance to “Waiting on the World to Change” by John Mayer, overtaking runner-up Michael Dameski [96.0] with an overall score of 97.5.
