The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Interim Executive Director) and its acclaimed NEO Developmental Reading Series presents the new musical Afterland, with music and lyrics by Benjamin Velezand book and lyrics by Kathryn Hathaway for one performance only, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The readings are open to the public with a suggested donation of $5.00.
Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed Broadway production of SPRING AWAKENING closes today, Sunday, January 24 after 129 performances. The production will have life after Broadway, however, with a national tour scheduled to launch in 2017.

The current revival of SPRING AWAKENING by Deaf West Theatre has made its one year journey from a small theatre, to the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts, and is now on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. The year long experience has united the cast and their deep chemistry is apparent- both on and off the stage. Just one aspect that makes the show so magical is the coming together of the Deaf and hearing theatrical communities, and their endless creativity can be seen in everything they do. On December 15th a cast Broadway favorites will take to the stage of 54 Below to celebrate the music of the 2001 cult classic movie 'Josie and the Pussycats.' An interactive American Sign Language experience will be held at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre prior to the Tuesday, December 1st performance of Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's Spring Awakening, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. Producer and Deaf West Theatre Artistic Director D.J. Kurs, along with members of the cast, will lead an inside look into the process of translating the lyrics of Spring Awakening into American Sign Language. Signed words and lyrics from the show will be taught, followed by a sing- and sign-along.
