PNC Arts Alive All Access Expands Discounted Ticket Program to Include Ages 13-25

The PNC Arts Alive All Access program launched last year is now expanding its discount ticket program to include young people aged 13-25. Designed to make the arts affordable and accessible, the program offers $5 tickets to a wide variety of performing arts events in Columbus. The program originally included ages 13-18, but the eligible age range has now been expanded to include those up to and including age 25.

"JumpinJazz Kids - A Swinging Jungle Tale," the new CD celebrating the rich history of Jazz and Popular music by paying tribute to its legendary pioneers through story, song and a variety of musical styles, is the proud recipient of a 2012 Parents' Choice GOLD Award from the prestigious Parents' Choice Foundation - the nation's oldest nonprofit guide to quality children's media and toys. In celebration of the CD release as well as the Award, a special performance took place at The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles on October 19th as part of the Museum's Educational Outreach Series.

Versatile raconteur Garrison Keillor will return to the New York Philharmonic as narrator and vocalist for Mr. Keillor at 70 with pianist Richard Dworsky and vocalist Christine DiGiallonardo tonight, October 16, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in an evening conducted by conductor and pianist Rob Fisher.

Emmy-winning composer Jim Dooley and lyricist Mike Himelstein have written the score (Dooley) and the songs (Dooley & Himelstein) for the first video game musical: Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Epic Mickey 2 is the first video game to use songs to drive the story forward, and one of the lead characters (the mad doctor) only communicated via song.

The Howard Theatre, the historic arts landmark that launched the careers of Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Marvin Gaye and The Supremes, announces their grand re-opening after a $29 million renovation and a 32-year hiatus. The Howard Theatre will re-open the week of April 9 with an opening lineup that includes Wale, Wanda Sykes, The Roots, Robert Randolph, Taj Mahal, Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), Meshell Ndegeocello, Bad Brains, Chuck Brown, Chuck Berry, Esperanza Spalding and a weekly Sunday Brunch featuring the Harlem Gospel Choir.
