HB Studio to Produce 2016-17 Benefit Series

HB Studio, one of New York's most venerable institutions for theater training and practice, is shaking things up this year for their annual benefit. This year HB Studio is bringing attention back to its roots, and back to the process of making great theater. Instead of one big benefit bash honoring esteemed alumni and colleagues (such as Fritz Weaver, Austin Pendleton, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, Eric Bentley and David Hyde Pierce, Amanda Peet and Lee Grant, Tony Walton and Katie Finneran, Alfred Molina), HB will be hosting a series of intimate benefit performances featuring notable HB alumni and friends, exclusively produced in the HB Playwrights Theater. First up for the exciting 2016-17 season is:

Jazz Age Lancaster Hotel to Celebrate 90th Anniversary at Houston Symphony with "Rhapsody in Blue"

Houston's historic Lancaster Hotel will celebrate its 90th anniversary at the Houston Symphony Friday, November 11 with a pre-concert reception that includes an appearance by Houston Symphony Pops conductor Michael Krajewski, birthday cake and a nod to the evening's performance of George Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' at Jones Hall for the Performing Arts.

National Theatre of the Deaf Begins Fall Tour

The National Theatre of the Deaf has launched their Fall Touring Season with a varied and comprehensive bill featuring: Two by Twain -Experience of the McWilliamses directed by Guest Artist Joey Caverly and Mrs. McWilliams and the Lightning directed by Guest Artist William C. ONSTAGE in Bedford Artistic Director Michael B. Winters announced tonight via Facebook the theater's 32nd season, which will be performed at the Trinity Arts Theater in the historic Bedford Boys Ranch. The new season will begin in January, 2017, with a mix of classic plays and newer works, including a regional premiere and three area premiere productions, as well as a new program the theater is calling 'SpotON',  a spotlight series featuring new works, staged readings and more.
