According to the Hollywood Reporter, stage and screen star Martin Short is set to star in the seventh season of Showtime's WEEDS. Martin will guest star in three episodes, in which he will play an 'eccentric attorney.'

ISSUE Project Room's inaugural benefit at their future home - the architecturally and acoustically beautiful jewel-box theater at 110 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn - brought together an array of artists, musicians, filmmakers and writers in celebration of longtime supporter Elliott Sharp's 60th birthday. Over 250 attendees helped raise approximately $80,000 and enjoyed the first public preview of the innovative concepts for the new space. Supporters ranged from Jo Andres, Steve Buscemi, Robert Longo, Aidan Quinn, and Nanette Lepore, to Elliott Sharp, JACK and Sirius Quartets, Jack Womack, and Tracie Morris.

A slew of theatre veterans, including Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Aidan Quinn, and Lauren Ambrose, are set to star in new television pilots in the coming months. Basset will star in ABC's 'Identity,' which is about an FBI agent who heads a new Identity Crimes Unit. Sarah Paulson is set for a still untitled NBC comedy about a woman who helps people adjust to career changes. Quinn will star in a BBC detective series called 'Prime Suspect,' while Ambrose is set for FOX's 'Weekends at Bellevue.'

According to published reports, playwright James McLure passed away on February 17 at the age of 59. McLure lost a battle to cancer. He is survived by his sister Jenny.

Following the reversal of their convictions and their release from prison, six Death Row inmates tell their harrowing stories in their own words in the drama, The Exonerated by Jessica Blank and Erik Jenson.
