Following the success of the 2011-2012 August Wilson program, Center Theatre Group has announced its continued participation and is now accepting applications for both facets of the program - the national August Wilson Monologue Competition and the CTG August Wilson in-school residency program.

Celebration Theatre in association with DEMAND PRoductions and Peter Schneider have announced the first show of its celebratory 30th Anniversary Season, the world premiere musical, JUSTIN LOVE, with book by Patricia Cotter and David Elzer, story by David Elzer and Bret Calder, music by Lori Scarlett and David Manning and lyrics by Lori Scarlett. The show will be directed by Michael Matthews with choreography by Janet Roston and musical direction by Gregory Nabours. JUSTIN LOVE will begin previews tonight, September 7, and will open on Friday, September 21, running through Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Celebration Theatre, 7051B Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

Today in 2009, 9 to 5 closed at the Marquis Theatre, where it ran for 148 performances. 9 to 5 is a stage musical with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick, based on the 1980 movie Nine to Five. Resnick had co-written the screenplay with Colin Higgins, the director of the film, in which Parton had her first screen role. The musical premiered at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles in September 2008 and opened on Broadway on April 30, 2009. It was nominated for 15 Drama Desk Awards, the most received by a production in a single year. It was also nominated for four Tony Awards.

Rehearsals have begun for David Mamet's fiendishly funny comedy "November," which will be presented at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum, September 26 through November 4, 2012. The opening is set for October 7. In addition to previously announced cast members Ed Begley, Jr., Felicity Huffman and Rod McLachlan, "November" will feature Gregory Cruz and Todd Weeks.

As previously announced, RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA will arrive on Broadway this season with previews set for January 21, 2013 prior to Opening Night on February 21 at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway at 53rd Street).

WAR HORSE, the 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Play and international sensation seen by more than 2 million people worldwide, will conclude its Broadway run Sunday, January 6, 2013 (at the Vivian Beaumont Theater - 150 West 65 Street) as the longest-running Tony Award-winning Best Play of the last decade. At time of closing, the production will have played 718 performances and 33 previews.

Winner of the 2012 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, SILENCE! The Musical the unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Christopher Gattelli, will open a Los Angeles company with performances beginning tonight, August 31, at the Hayworth Theatre. This engagement marks the West Coast Premiere of the Off-Broadway hit. The press opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 8, 2012. SILENCE! The Musical is produced by Theater Mogul.

Elephant Room at the Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre brings pure, unadulterated fun and transforms the space into a mystical place of wonder and amusement, running now through September 16, 2012. Rachel York stars in "Anything Goes" with Music and Lyrics by Cole Porter, Original book by P.G. Wodehouse & Guy Bolton, and Howard Lindsay & Russel Crouse and New book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman, will play Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre, beginning previews November 27, opening on November 28 and running through January 6, 2013.

The Second City's "A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens!" by Peter Gwinn and Bobby Mort, will play Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, directed by Marc Warzecha in a World Premiere, beginning performances November 24, opening on November 29 and running through December 30, 2012.
