Good Theater Announces 11th Season: GOOD PEOPLE, 4000 MILES and More

Good Theater, the professional company in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, is gearing up for its 11th season of plays and musicals. Artistic Director Brian P. Allen calls this, “a season of firsts with two Maine premieres, a New England premiere and an East Coast premiere. Plus we've added a very special kick off event with a major Broadway star.'

Jeffrey Bean, James Belcher and More Set for NOVEMBER at Alley Theatre, Now thru 9/23

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the cast and creative team for the Alley Theatre's production of November. November features Alley Theatre Resident Actors Jeffrey Bean as President Charles Smith, James Belcher as The Representative of the National Association of Turkey and Turkey Products, Elizabeth Bunch as Clarice Bernstein, David Rainey as Dwight Grackle, and Todd Waite as Archer Brown. November, by David Mamet and directed by Sanford Robbins, begins performances tonight, August 24, opens officially Wednesday, August 29, and runs through Sunday, September 23 on the Neuhaus Stage.

CCCT to Kick Off Season With KISS ME KATE, 9/7-23

The Board of CCCT kicks off its season with the hit musical 'Kiss Me Kate', running 7-23 September. The story involves the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare's 'The Taming of the Shrew' and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show's director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi. A secondary romance concerns Lois Lane, the actress playing Bianca, and her gambler boyfriend, Bill, who runs afoul with some gangsters. Lots of fun and songs by Cole Porter. Show times are 8.00pm on Fridays/Saturdays and 2.30pm on Sundays.

Andrew Rothkin, Joseph Conway and More Set for NORMA JEANE, ENLIGHTENED Tonight, 8/2

Celebrated actor and playwright, Andrew Rothkin, joins the cast as John F. Kennedy and independent film actor, Joseph Conway, will appear as Tyrone Power. Returning from the original cast are Gloria Jung, Eric Kuzmuth, Martha Ghio, Michael Curcio, Bob Cencioni, Danny McDermott and Holly Elizabeth O'Brien as Norma Jeane.

BWW Reviews: Theatre 40 Offers Mystery Thriller THE BAT

For the third summer in a row Theatre 40 is turning back time to present a delightfully eerie murder mystery thriller: first, it was Agatha Christie's Black Coffee, then last summer The Spider's Web, and now, from the early twenties, Mary Roberts Rinehart's and Avery Hopwood's The Bat. The current production is not quite as tightly packaged as the previous two, but, despite the play's lengthy exposition and a somewhat slow delivery, it does have guest artist Veronica Cartwright on board, an opulent set and costumes...and, with its thunder and lightning blackouts and creepy images popping up outside the window and in the corridor, it certainly is a whole lot of fun to experience.

France, Howes Among Cast of UK Tour of 'MOUSETRAP' - Full Casting Announced!

For over 50 years, Agatha Christie's THE MOUSETRAP has been the world's longest running stage production. The first ever tour of the record-breaking production will open on 11 September 2012 in Canterbury and tour through to 2014. For the first leg of the tour the cast will include: Steven France (Eastenders, The Bill) as Christopher Wren, Thomas Howes (Downton Abbey, The History Boys (National Theatre UK Tour)) as Sgt Trotter.
