Good Theater has received a $5,000 grant from the Davis Family Foundation to assist with the upcoming production of DEATH BY DESIGN. DEATH BY DESIGN will receive its East Coast premiere at Good Theater opening January 30 and running through February 24. New York playwright, Rob Urbinati, is the author of DEATH BY DESIGN.
Walnut Street Theatre's Independence Studio on 3 brings audiences Mark Brown's adaptation of Jules Verne's masterpiece Around the World in 80 Days. Philadelphia audiences will be the first to experience this wild adventure before it travels as the third national tour of a Walnut Street Theatre production. Around the World in 80 Days begins in Philadelphia with previews tonight, January 15th, opens January 17th and runs through February 3rd in the intimate Independence Studio on 3.

I went through a fairly intense Agatha Christie phase before I hit double digits. I read her mysteries rabidly, watched all the old movies and even, thanks to a mother who was happy to feed both my whodunit and theater-going habits, saw The Mousetrap in London's West End at the ripe old age of 10. I even remember the Laura Ashley dress I wore to the show. I did not, however, remember the ending, which made for a blissfully ignorant repeat performance on my part as I sat in the audience at The Vagabond Players for its rendition of one of Dame Christie's finest.
