SEMINAR, THE SECRET GARDEN and More Set for Stoneham Theatre's 14th Season

Every year, Stoneham Theatre seeks out stories and shows that will entertain, amuse, and surprise audiences. 'We pride ourselves on our variety,' Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes shared. 'And this season is no different, with new and familiar titles and hopefully something a little unexpected.' Stoneham Theatre's Season 14 boasts a hip new comedy direct from Broadway, a fresh take on a classic horror story, a holiday favorite, a silly, murder mystery musical, a Tony Award-winning musical, and one show yet to be announced. 'We are very excited to present our 14th season of professional theatre right here in Metro North and pleased to share this new slate of shows with the public,' Managing Director Debra Rafson added.

Alley Theatre Presents A FEW GOOD MEN, Now thru 3/24

Bringing together an outstanding, large cast with a world-class artistic team, Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd directs Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men. This epic production brings this captivating military courtroom drama to life. A Few Good Men runs tonight, March 1 through March 24, 2013, on the Hubbard Stage.

Wyvern Theatre Announces Upcoming Season

The Wyvern will present a brand-new season including Gareth Gates and Chico in Boogie Nights the Musical in Concert, Liza Goddard and Lysette Anthony in Agatha Christie's Go Back For Murder, Ray Quinn and Beverley Callard in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, Hannah Waterman in Abigail's Party, Toyah Wilcox in Hormonal Housewives and Dancing On Ice's Keith Chegwin in Jack and the Beanstalk.

Comedy Rules Northern Stage's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, Now thru 2/24

Few plays have stood the test of time in the way that The Importance of Being Earnest has. Written in 1895, this 'Serious Comedy for Trivial People,' as playwright Oscar Wilde termed it, offers situations and comedy that remain timeless and fresh. The characters are memorable, from the careless and self-centered Jack to the innocent and impressionable Cecily. Wilde skewers Victorian society in a manner that leaves audiences laughing from start to finish.

I'LL BE BACK BEFORE MIDNIGHT Makes LA Premiere at Colony Theatre, Now thru 3/3

The Colony Theatre will present the fifth production of its 'Season of Premieres' with the Los Angeles Premiere of I'LL BE BACK BEFORE MIDNIGHT, written and directed by Peter Colley. I'LL BE BACK BEFORE MIDNIGHT will preview tonight, February 6; Thursday, February 7; and Friday, February 8 at 8:00pm. It will open on Saturday, February 9 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, March 3 at The Colony Theatre, 555 North Third Street (at Cypress) adjacent to the Burbank Town Center.

A delightful midwinter night's dream, ALMOST, MAINE by John Cariani will play TheaterWorks in downtown Hartford. The sweet and poignant comedy runs tonight, January 25 - March 3, 2013, directed by Amy Saltz.

MURDER ABBEY Comes to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, 2/11

Murder Abbey, named one of the 'six best Downton Abbey spoofs' by The Daily Beast, returns to New York City and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre for one performance only. Murder Abbey is a solo costume drama parody written and performed by Upright Citizens Brigade member, Kate Hess. 'Death Wish' Director Michael Winner Dies at Age 77

The Assoicated Press reports that British filmmaker and 'Death Wish' director Michael Winner has died at the age of 77. The news was shared by his wife Geraldine this morning. Winner passed away at his home in London following an illness.

BWW Reviews: THE MOUSETRAP at Village Still Keeps 'Em Guessing

To think that a murder mystery that's been around for 60 years such as “The Mousetrap', currently playing at Village Theatre, could still be fresh. I mean, everyone knows who the killer is by now, right? Nope. I for one couldn't remember and from the gasps in the audience many others couldn't either. But then that's part of the enduring quality of this Agatha Christie classic, it still keeps you guessing. And the Village production is so full of fun, rich characters and, of course, red herrings that it amounts to a thoroughly enjoyable night out.
