Florida Grand Opera (FGO) has announced the promotion of Maria Dolores Ordoñez and welcome new hire Max Kellogg, both serving as Individual Giving Officers effective immediately. As Individual Giving Officers, they will focus on developing new and enhanced connections with individual and corporate partners that actively support FGO's mission and vision.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County heralds its eighth season of showcasing Broadway's greatest hits in the Ziff Ballet Opera house with a sixshow subscription package that opens with the South Florida premiere of the worldwide smash-hit musical featuring Queen's legendary hits WE WILL ROCK YOU December 10-15, 2013; followed by the hilarious holiday-themed Broadway musical ELF, set to bring in the New Year December 31, 2013-January 5, 2014.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, together with Riviera South Beach hotel, Alan Lieberman and Nathan Lieberman, present the fifth annual MIAMI MADE FESTIVAL, featuring for 2013 a weeklong showcase of new works-in-progress created and performed by a roster of Miami-based artists across multiple disciplines, all of whom have previously collaborated with the Arsht Center. FLAMENCO FESTIVAL MIAMI returns to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County for a sixth season of world-class flamenco dance and music with Spain's massively popular BALLET FLAMENCO DE ANDALUCÍA, coming to Miami for the first time, direct from the land where flamenco was born! From March 14 - 17, 2013 in the Ziff Ballet Opera House, the renowned BALLET FLAMENCO DE ANDALUCÍA, led by the award-winning flamenco star Ruben Olmo, will premiere a new evening-length work, METÁFORA, a kaleidoscope of castanets, fans, traditional flamenco 'bata de cola' dresses, effervescent heel-and-toe step combinations, demanding technique and jaw-dropping athleticism.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County has partnered with renowned producer/promoter Larry Magid to present MIKE TYSON: UNDISPUTED TRUTH, a one-man theatrical show performed by legendary boxer MIKE TYSON, directed by Spike Lee and produced by James Nederlander. Following a successful run on Broadway and in Las Vegas, MIKE TYSON: UNDISPUTED TRUTH embarks on a national tour that includes a one-night only engagement at the Arsht Center's Knight Concert Hall on April 16, 2013.

Florida Grand Opera (FGO) has announced a new three-year program entitled 'Unexpected Operas in Unexpected Places,' designed to bring less-known works to unique venues throughout South Florida in an effort to expose new audiences to opera, with the support of a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of its Knights Arts Challenge. The first installment of this new initiative will bring operatic productions to the Midtown neighborhood for the first time with a tango double-bill featuring Robert Xavier Rodriguez's Tango and Ástor Piazzolla's María de Buenos Aires, held at the popular Midtown music venue The Stage on March 21-24, 2013.

On Saturday, January 12, 2013, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) raised in excess of $1 million in support of YoungArts programs in Miami, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles at An Affair of the Arts Performance and Gala. Held in Downtown Miami, the evening honored director and choreographer Debbie Allen (Leadership Award), violinist Joshua Bell (Arison Award), and actor and alumnus Adrian Grenier (Alumni Award) and brought together prominent artists, community leaders, philanthropists and celebrities. FOCUS DANCE is a part of FOCUS 2013, the National Platform to promote American dance both abroad and nationally.
