Northern Stage, considered one of the most prestigious and fastest-growing regional theaters in New England, presents the Tony Award winning play, Red, through April 21. Red was first produced at the 250-seat Donmar Warehouse in London in December 2009, starring Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne. The production transferred to Broadway's John Golden Theatre, with the same cast, for a limited run, from March 11 - June 27, 2010. It picked up six Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Direction, and Best Performance by a Featured Actor (Redmayne), as well as three Drama Desk Awards, including Best Play.

In celebration of the upcoming world premiere of Eve Ensler's Emotional Creature, which consists of original monologues about and for girls, Berkeley Repertory Theatre offers a host of new courses this spring that allow students of all ages to share their personal stories. At Berkeley Rep's School of Theatre, teens can take Writing Monologues with Melissa Hillman; adults can mine their lives for stories with Joel ben Izzy or get a primer on Solo Performance with Sara Felder; and school kids can act out their favorite fables in a class on Fairy Tales and Adventures with Erica Blue.
