EMOTIONAL CREATURE, written by Eve Ensler and directed by Jo Bonney, with music and music direction by Charl-Johan Lingenfelder and featuring choreography by Luam and designs by Myung Hee Cho (sets and costumes), Lap Chi Chu (lights), Jake Rodriguez (sound), and Shawn Sagady (video), is set to make its world premiere at Berkeley Rep June 14 through July 15, 2012. The 5th Avenue Awards Honoring High School Musical Theatre celebrates its tenth anniversary by bringing previous recipients back to the stage to present the next generation of musical theater stars with awards and accolades. The acclaimed program, sponsored by Wells Fargo, is a high school version of the Tony Awards, and allows theater students from across Washington to meet, celebrate, and honor the exceptional musical Theater Productions presented during the 2011-12 school year. The 5th Avenue Awards will be held at 7:00 PM, tonight, June 4, at The 5th Avenue Theatre.
As first reported on Deadline.com, Kate Walsh is set to exit ABC's long-running medical drama PRIVATE PRACTICE following the upcoming sixth season. The actress, who has portrayed Dr. Addison Montgomery on the show for the past 7 years, will depart the series after filming 13 additional episodes.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre concludes its season with another new play, Dael Orlandersmith's BLACK N BLUE BOYS/BROKEN MEN. This world premiere introduces audiences to children and adults forging identities in families fractured by abuse. Each relates a story that transforms these challenges into a celebration of our capacity to survive. Orlandersmith created this show after becoming a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize with Yellowman, and she brings these characters to life with the help of Obie Award-winning director Chay Yew.
The Edward Thorp Gallery recently announced an exhibit of recent works by Katherine Bradford. The show will consist of approximately twenty large- to small-scale paintings, and gouache works on paper.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the cast and creative team for its world premiere of Eve Ensler's EMOTIONAL CREATURE. This positive and propulsive new show - from the Tony Award-winning playwright, performer, and activist who created The Vagina Monologues - features a choreographer, a composer, four top designers, and an ensemble of talented young women. Directed by Obie Award-winner Jo Bonney, Emotional Creature plays only 36 performances in the Roda Theatre. The limited engagement at Berkeley Rep begins previews on June 14, opens June 22, and runs through July 15. The lead producers of this premiere are Wayne Jordan and Quinn Delaney, Marjorie Randolph, and Jack and Betty Schafer; the executive producer is the Strauch Kulhanjian Family. The development of this production has been supported in part by The Mosse Artistic Development Fund.

John Addison was previously announced to play Sebastian and complete the cast for the London revival of The Thing About Men, due to open at The Landor Theatre tonight, 15th May 2012 for a strictly limited four week run. Theatrica Ltd have not been able to announce John until now, due to his placement and filming schedule for the latest ITV series, Superstar; dedicated to helping Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber find his next title role in Jesus Christ Superstar.
Originally scheduled to close on April 29, Berkeley Repertory Theatre's RED added 12 performances due to popular demand and closes tonight, May 12.
