GLAAD, the world's LGBTQ media advocacy organization, announced today that it will honor Tony and Grammy Award-winning actor and singer Billy Porter with the Vito Russo Award at the 28th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York City at the New York Hilton Midtown on May 6, 2017. The GLAAD Media Awards honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community.

Today (Friday 27 January 2017) Grant Stott, one of Radio Forth's longest serving DJ's ever, is stepping down from his hugely popular daytime radio show on Forth 1 - which he has hosted for the past 17 years - to take his 2016 Edinburgh Fringe hit solo show, Tales From Behind The Mic, on the road. Directed by long-time collaborators Andy Gray and Ryan Dewar and produced by The Gilded Balloon, the newly extended and re-structured production of Tales From Behind The Mic will tour to 12 venues across Scotland from Sunday 26 February to Sunday 7 May 2017 [see venue listings below].

BWW Review: Book-It's TREASURE ISLAND �" A Swashbuckling Good Time

I remember my first exposure to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic, "Treasure Island". It wasn't the book but rather an animated version they showed occasionally during Saturday morning cartoons and although I haven't seen that one in years I remember loving it for its thrilling swashbuckling adventure and rich characters including a bad guy who wasn't all that bad even though he was a bloodthirsty pirate. Well I'm happy to say all those feelings from childhood came rushing back the other night as I watched Book-It Repertory Theatre's current adaptation. I mean, swarthy pirates, sword fights, and buried treasure. How can you go wrong?
