Sean Fader's 'SHARE THIS!' Exhibition Opens This Sunday at Denny Gallery

Share This! Appropriation After Cynicism, curated by Elizabeth Denny, is an exhibition of artists who appropriate the work of other artists. Running from December 14 through January 25, it is a continuation of programming at Denny Gallery that explores alternative modes of exchange between artists, collectors, curators, and exhibitors. Share This! Appropriation After Cynicism will feature work by Brent Birnbaum, Lily Cox-Richard, Matthew Craven, Sean Fader, Nikolai Ishchuk, Michael Mandiberg, Adam Parker Smith, Jordan Tate, and Ana Teles.

Brooklyn Museum's 4th Annual "Brooklyn Artists Ball" Slated for April 16

The Brooklyn Museum today announced that the Brooklyn Artists Ball, the fourth installment of its annual fundraising gala celebrating Brooklyn's creative community, will take place on Wednesday, April 16. This year, the Museum will honor art patrons Jane and David Walentas and artists Jenny Holzer, Ai Weiwei, and Kehinde Wiley.

Circle Circle dot dot kicks off their official SECOND SEASON with, 'Street. Art. Prophets.' a collection of 5 short plays about artists who take to the streets to get their art seen. It was a full house on Opening Night and members of the community, family, & friends came out to show their support. Audiences enjoyed watching 5 WORLD PREMIERE plays and took to the 'Tag Wall' display in the lobby to voice their love of the show. Check out photos from the wall and the show below!

The year 2011 is off to an ambitions start with numberous NYC galleries introducing new artists and art shows within the first two weeks of January. Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education, although not a traditional gallery, is also joining the trend by ringing the new year with 'Superheroes', an art show curated by Wirth Art Advisory. The show will be open to the public from January 21st to March 2nd, with a special opening reception on January 20th from 6-8pm.
