BWW Review: THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF AMERICA (ABRIDGED) - THE Textbook Example of Non-Stop, Side-Splitting Hilarity

In THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF AMERICA (ABRIDGED), the history of the United States receives an incredibly well-scripted, hysterically reenactment in just under two hours of simply inspired theatre. Jerry Kernion quite ably directs his very talented cast of three at a swift pace with just seconds enough for all the audience laughter to subside before the next funny bit follows- and they do keep coming!

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey Sets 2016 Season

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, named "Company of the Year" in 2014 by the Wall Street Journal which also described the Theatre as "one of America's half-dozen leading classical repertory companies,"proudly announces an ambitious 2016 Season of classic treasures and exceptional new work inspired by historic events and historic figures.  Featuring works by Shakespeare, Noel Coward, Eugene Ionesco, Lolita Chakrabarti, Dylan Thomas, along with a trio of writers in Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield, the Theatre's line-up demonstrates an unwavering dedication to classic tales that inspire our present lives as well as future visions of the world.

STAGE TUBE: First Look at Catherine Tate, Dean John-Wilson and More in Trailer for MISS ATOMIC BOMB

Award winning star of TV and theatre, Catherine Tate (Assassins, The Catherine Tate Show, The Vote, Doctor Who) and Dean John-Wilson (Aladdin, Here Lies Love), who takes lead role in Disney's Aladdin this summer, will lead the cast in the new musical comedy Miss Atomic Bomb, alongside musical theatre stars Florence Andrews (A Little Night Music, Annie Get Your Gun), Simon Lipkin (The Lorax, Assassins, Rock of Ages, Avenue Q) and Daniel Boys (Any Dream Will Do, Avenue Q, Spamalot) as it explodes into the UK for its World Premiere at the St James Theatre, Victoria, in Spring 2016. The production will be running from 7 March for a strictly limited five week season, with press night on 14 March 2016.

An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard's plays, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) was London's longest-running comedy having clocked a very palpable nine years in London's West End at the Criterion Theatre! To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this classic farce, two of its original writers (Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield) have thoroughly revised the show to bring it up to date for 21st-century audiences, incorporating some of the funniest material from the numerous amateur and professional productions that have been performed around the world. Join the madcap cast in tights as they weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare's Comedies, Histories and Tragedies in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter.

'Urinetown: The Musical!,' the Tony-award-winning hit from 2001, will be performed by Ann Arbor's Penny Seats Theatre Company July 30, 31, Aug 1, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, and 15. Set in an admittedly absurd dystopian future where one must pay to pee, the show lampoons corporate bureaucracy, pie-in-the-sky optimism, revolution without a plan, and the musical theatre genre itself. With a full pit orchestra (led by Richard Alder) on the band shell stage, the action takes place around the audience in the park. Featured performers include Brendan Kelly (Ypsilanti), Roy Sexton (Saline), David Kiley (Ann Arbor), John DeMerell (Walled Lake), Sarah Leahy (Ann Arbor), Paige Martin (Ann Arbor), Cathy McDonald (Plymouth), Christina McKim (Albion), Jenna Pittman (Royal Oak), Linda Rabin Hammell (Detroit), Jeff Stringer (Jackson), Maika Van Oosterhout (Ann Arbor), and Daniel Bachelis (Howell).

THE COMPLEAT WRKS OF WLLM SHKSPR & More Set for Shakespeare Dallas' 2015 Summer Season

Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon. Summer is here, which means only one thing: Shakespeare Dallas is kicking off another season of Shakespeare in the Park. The 2015 season features two favorite plays written by Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet and King Lear, as well as The Compleat Wrks of Wllm Shkspr (abridged) [revised] written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield. The performances will take place at the Samuell Grand Amphitheatre, 1500 Tenison Parkway in Dallas and at the Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle, in Addison.

Penny Seats Theatre Company Expands Summer Offerings

Ann Arbor's Penny Seats Theatre Company significantly expands summer offerings Ann Arbor's Penny Seats Theatre Company is set to open its fifth--and biggest--summer season at West Park, performing outdoor professional theatre for just $10 (or less) per ticket, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (and one Sunday) throughout July and August. This year, the group takes up residence at the park for six weeks, performing two blockbuster comedies: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [Abridged], by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield, and Urinetown: The Musical! by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis.
