Falcon Theatre Founder, Garry Marshall, is thrilled to announce the Falcon Theatre's 2015-2016 5-Play Subscription Season. Falcon Theatre's 14th subscription season brings five entertaining productions to Burbank, including two collaborations with the award-winning companies Impro Theatre and Troubadour Theater Company. For the 2015-2016 season, the Falcon has also partnered with Prosecco Trattoria restaurant in Toluca Lake to give subscribers an added benefit of a discounted local dining experience.
The season begins with the critically-acclaimed Impro Theatre as they return to the Falcon with Sondheim UnScripted, directed by Dan O'Connor and Michelle Spears. Sondheim UnScripted is a completely improvised musical in the style of one of Broadway's most acclaimed artists, Stephen Sondheim. Starting with audience suggestions, the cast and musicians work together as an ensemble to improvise songs with the intricate rhymes, soaring counter melodies and complex themes that are all hallmarks of Sondheim's work, creating a wholly original, thrilling musical with every performance. Next, the Falcon is excited to bring Scott and Hem to the stage, written by Mark St. Germain and directed by Dimitri Toscas, where F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway wrestle with the sparks of art and the perils of creativity-and the personal destruction they can reap. In this combative comedy fueled by friendship and rivalry, these two literary heavyweights reunite in 1937 at Fitzgerald's home in Hollywood's fabled Garden of Allah. There, they explore their mysterious bond and the genius that first brought them together, and ultimately tore them apart. The Falcon Theatre is a 130-seat professional theatre that operates year-round in Burbank, California, built by Director/Writer/Producer Garry Marshall and his daughter Kathleen Marshall LaGambina. The Falcon opened in November of 1997 and launched its annual 5-play Subscription Series in 2002, currently produced by Kathleen and Sherry Greczmiel. Mr. Marshall founded the Falcon as a place where established artists and emerging talent can come together to create exciting work on stage.
