I could probably write a one sentence review of Audra McDonald's concert at Bethesda's magnificent Music Center at Strathmore that would sum up my reaction quite well. It would read something like this: Audra is perfection and can do anything.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's Board of Directors voted to promote Michael Baron, Lyric's artistic director, to producing artistic director. Baron began his tenure with Lyric in July of 2010, and continues to grow the organization with his leadership.

Our Productions Theatre Co. to Present ORDINARY DAYS

Our Productions Theatre Co. is anything but ordinary. Neither is the first musical of their 2015 Inaugural Season, Ordinary Days. The regional premiere of the acclaimed new production, is written by Adam Gwon, a composer and lyricist named one of '50 to Watch' by The Dramatist magazine, and winner of the 2008 Fred Ebb award for excellence in musical theater songwriting. Gwon's musical Ordinary Days recently enjoyed a sold-out run at the Finborough Theatre in London, after making its world premiere at Pennsylvania Centre Stage and appearing in the 2008 NAMT Festival of New Musicals and the 2008 ASCAP/Disney Musical Theatre Workshop. Sierra Stages & Miners Foundry Cultural Center to Present ORDINARY DAYS, 4/1

On Wednesday, April 1st, the Miners Foundry Cultural Center and Sierra Stages kick off the third season of Theater by the Book, a popular series of informal play readings for the community, with the critically acclaimed musical "Ordinary Days" written by composer/lyricist Adam Gwon. Sandra Rockman directs, with musical direction by Ken Getz, and featuring local Nevada County actors Jay Barker, Nancy Haffey, Jonathan Hansard, and Kim Wellman.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and Women's Project Theater present the world premiere of The Undeniable Sound of Right Now, written by Laura Eason (S e x with Strangers,'House of Cards') and directed by Kirsten Kelly (Slipping), beginning tonight, March 19 at 7pm at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, west of Seventh Avenue South. The Festival of New American Musicals and the University of California, Irvine a nnounce the launch of a nationwide search for new, short musicals created by writers between the ages of 14 - 23. The Festival produced a pilot of ShowSearch in 2013 in Los Angeles. Its success in attracting creative responses from young writers representing over 40 states has led to this new cooperative relationship between FNAM and UC Irvine Department of Drama.

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the Roundabout Underground world-premiere production of Little Children Dream of God, a new play by Jeff Augustin. The world premiere of Little Children Dream of God began preview performances Off-Broadway on January 24 and officially opens tonight, February 17, 2015 at the Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).
