The Academy Theatre will present the stageplay ART by Yasmina Reza (Gods of Carnage). The show will run from August 4th to the19th on Saturdays and Sundays with a Monday August 13th special performance!

Relationships should be perfect. But the truth is even the good ones leave scars. Come experience a profoundly visceral night of theatre that explores a perfect relationship like one would look at the inverted, bloody sinews of a skinned animal. This is the Chicago premiere of Gary Henderson's acclaimed 'Skin Tight' and the inaugural production of Chicago's newest company, Cor Theatre, founded by Victoria (toy) Deiorio and Tosha Fowler.

Laughing Matters will perform their monthly BattleActs competition at the Academy Theatre on July 21rst. See eight improvisers start on stage, and witness how the audience votes to keep the ones they think are funny! The improvisors will fall until there is only one BattleActs Champion left!

On Sunday July 8th, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR's Chilina Kennedy will bring 'What You Find In A Bottle' to the Metropolitan Room at 7pm. Special guest stars will include Paul Nolan and Josh Young, with Rick Fox, Michele Fox, Kevin Ramessar and Jaz Sealey playing in the band.

Several animals leave home to make a living on the stage; several actors leave the stage to work for the devil; and a flounder grants wishes to a fisherman. It's all part of the fun of 'Storybook Theater: Old Tales with a New Twist,' consisting of the classic tales, 'The Bremen Town Musicians,' 'The Three Travelers,' and 'The Fisherman and His Wife.'

East Lynne Theater Company will present a Student Workshop Production of 'Storybook Theater: Old Fables with a New Twist' on July 2nd. With minimum props and costumes, students will focus on the art of storytelling and how to work as a tight ensemble, using the imagination to its fullest.

To top off the summer season, Lyric presents the Broadway legend herself, Chita Rivera, in CHITA RIVERA: MY BROADWAY, August 7-11. This intimate night of music featuring Chita's best Broadway hits will leave you wanting more!

'Jamaica, Farewell', the sold out Academy smash, returns February 4th. Written and performed by NAACP award winner Debra Ehrhardt and directed by Joel Zwick (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) JAMAICA, FAREWELL tells the story of what one Jamaican immigrant will do to get to America. The show runs Saturdays and Sundays February 4th through 19th with only six shows.
