The Academy Theatre Announces Halloween Events

The Academy Theatre will present three Great Events for Halloween with proceeds to benefit Lifeline Animal Project, The South DeKalb Senior Center and the Academy Theatre's Outreach Programs.  

DARK HARVEST HAUNTED HOUSE – October 26th – 31st from 7:00 – 11:00 PM – recommended for ages 13 and up.  Tickets are $10.00.  Pull back the tent flap and see what happens when Mr. Dark's Nightshade Odditorium comes to town.

  • UPDATE:  Auditions for all roles in Dark Harvest Haunted House will be held on September 25th from 7-10 PM at the Theatre. For more information, please contact the Academy at 404-474-8332

 

DARK HARVEST MASQUERADE BALL - October 26th at 8:00 PM.  Tickets are 35.00 each or $65.00 per couple; (ticket includes admittance to The Masquerade Ball and VIP Preview of Dark Harvest Haunted House).  Ghost and ghoul wannabes and Halloween lovers alike are invited to come dressed to the ghostly nines.  The Ball will be an evening of food, fun, dancing, music and live performances.

  • UPDATE: The entertainment for the Masquerade Ball has been confirmed: DJ Doctor Q of The Artifice Club, Gwen Hughes and The Retro Jazz Kats, The City Gate Dance Theatre Company, and Thimblerig Circus.  One of our sponsors, The Bead Shoppe will be organizing a mask decorating party for attendees of the ball at their store in Avondale Estates.  We are excited to announce that Dim Horizon Studios will have a professional photo set-up at the Ball for attendees to have a portrait taken in their gorgeous ball gowns and Halloween costumes.

 

DARK HARVEST FAMILY FESTIVAL – October 27th – 28th from Noon to 5:00 PM.  An outdoor Halloween Festival for the Whole Family!  Special "Family Friendly" performances of Dark Harvest Haunted House will be offered during the festival for our younger Halloween fans.

  • UPDATE: We have ten (10) vendors registered for the Family Festival. There are still a few spots available for local artists. Apply for a space at: http://academydarkharvest.weebly.com/vendor-application.html.  Our Friends at The Beer Growler have added a Special Event " The Lil Punkin Race" to the festival on Sat. the 27th. Children will be able to race their own baby pumpkin creations. Lifeline Animal Project, one of our charity recipients, will have a special tent for pet adoptions at the festival both days.

We still need folks to volunteer Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
