A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC's Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury Visit GMA Tomorrow, 12/9

Catherine Zeta-Jones & Angela Lansbury, stars of Broadway's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, will appear together in a live interview on ABC's 'Good Morning America' tomorrow, Wednesday, December 9th in the 8 a.m. hour. After, Catherine Zeta-Jones goes uptown to visit with Kelly Ripa & Jeff Probst on 'Live with Regis & Kelly,' which airs at 9 a.m. Check local listings (both shows air locally on channel 7, WABC in the tri-state area).

Debra Toscano To Play Sister in Long Wharf Theatre's SISTER'S CHRISTMAS CATECHISM

Long Wharf Theatre, under the direction of Gordon Edelstein (Artistic Director) and Ray Cullom (Managing Director), announces that Entertainment Events' production of Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold, by Maripat Donovan with Jane Morris and Marc Silvia, will return to Long Wharf Theatre on Stage II from December 1 through December 20, 2009.

A TALE OF TWO CITIES PBS Concert to Be Released on CD and DVD

The PBS concert version of A TALE OF TWO CITIES will get a DVD and cast recording to be released in the upcoming months. The concert was filmed this past summer at England's Theater Royal Brighton that will be Broadcast on PBS stations, beginning November 26. The concert production features an international cast including James Barbour, Brandi Burkhardt, Natalie Toro, and Kevin Earley from the Broadway production.

Review - Impressionism: Chagall's In Charge

If you're going to open your play with the two main characters discussing their preference of either muffins or coffee cake with their morning brew, your dialogue had better be sparkling. It's not. In fact the biggest problem with Michael Jacobs' Impressionism is that its main characters can't seem to express themselves as cleverly as the author seems to believe they are. Pseudo-sophisticated urban shorthand abounds in this ninety minute pounding into the brain of the notion that, like an impressionist painting, life is so much clearer when observed from a distance.

Although I hadn't read any of the first wave of reviews, by the time I was seated for my post-opening night press performance at the Hirschfeld it was pretty much common knowledge to the entire Broadway community that the new (and from the looks of her Playbill bio, the only) creation from bookwriter/composer/lyricist Jill Santoriello brought out gobs of that legendary New York theatre critic acid wit among the great majority of my colleagues.
