BIG RIVER: THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN Comes To Milwaukee's First Stage

Adapted for family audiences from the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, BIG RIVER: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn tells the story of Huck and his friend Jim, a slave, as they travel along the mighty Mississippi River. Huck tries to help Jim escape to freedom and reunite with his family.

San Diego Women's Chorus To Premiere Tribute To Stonewall

The San Diego Women's Chorus ('SDWC'), San Diego's premier lesbian-identified community chorus, is proud to present a monumental 2019 spring concert performance titled 'Quiet No More: A Choral Celebration of Stonewall.' The event will feature a brand new commissioned work of the same name that honors the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City by relaying the events that kickstarted the modern international LGBTQ movement. In addition to the 'Quiet No More' commission, SDWC will be performing a selection of electrifying and empowering pieces, including songs like 'You Will Be Found' from the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen, and the Isley Brothers' throwback, 'Fight the Power.' This inspiring event will take place on Saturday, May 18, 7 PM and Sunday, May 19, 4 PM, 2019 at the Lincoln High School Center for Performing Arts, 4777 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA 92113.

The McCallum Theatre Presents Musical Renaissance Man Steve Tyrell

The McCallum Theatre and Jim "FITZ" Fitzgerald co-present Steve Tyrell on Saturday, March 9, at 8:00pm as part of the Fitz's Jazz Cafe at the McCallum series. Tuesdays with Morrie/by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom/directed by L. Flint Esquerra/Sierra Madre Playhouse/through March 31 Was there a mentor apart from family who gave you the inspiration to change the way you lived your life? Based on Mitch Alboms book entitled Tuesdays with Morrie in which he details his relationship with Professor Morrie Schwartz at Brandeis U in Massachusetts in the late 70s, the two character play is currently receiving an insightful and enjoyable production at Sierra Madre Playhouse through March 31. With meticulous direction from L. Flint Esquerra and splendid performances from Larry Eisenberg as Morrie and Jackson Kendall as Mitch, the play should be a popular hit with audiences young and old.

After spending a year working as a music teacher in an emergency refugee camp in Berlin, Jen now lives in her parents' basement - stuck. She is haunted by her memories and refuses to move forward with her life in America. Combining choral music, German house/techno, and Middle Eastern music, Notes from the Basement follows this diverse intergenerational and international cast on a journey of loss and forgiveness, taking a hard look at the American hero complex, 'voluntourism,' and finding humanity in seemingly inhuman circumstances. BWW Review: THE LAST FIVE YEARS at Tipping Point Theatre is an Exquisite, Emotional Rollercoaster Ride!

Raw human emotion is something that all theatres hope to achieve when putting on any type production, Tipping Point Theatre did just that with their musical experience of Jason Robert Brown's The Last FiveYears. The emotional and unconventional musical is the intimate telling of relationship of a young couple from beginning to end that weaves all their endearing qualities and flaws in a way that leaves audiences constructing their own opinions on where the relationship went wrong. The audience witnesses Jamie (played by Nick Yocum) and Cathy (played by Angie Kane Ferrante) be human and experience human emotions filled with love, anger, defeat, sadness, opinions, defiance, hope, and more - all told through song. The show is currently playing until March 3rd at the Northville theatre and the exquisite cast is ready to take audiences on an emotional rollercoaster ride.
