BWW Review: GUYS AND DOLLS at Broadway Palm is Lively and Light!

GUYS AND DOLLS at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre tells two different love stories; one between a missionary, Sarah Brown, and a Broadway gambler, Sky Masterson, and the other between Miss Adelaide, a singer at the Hot Box nightclub, and Nathan Detroit, the operator of the "world's largest floating crap game."

BWW Review: D. Scott Eads Returns to Sterling's With a Brand New Show

D. Scott Eads, who made a big splash last fall at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal in Legacy in the Key of Bing. returned to Sterlings Sunday February 17 with a brand new show entitled Love and Other Games. This show continued the musical journey with iconic singers/songwriters who established themselves in night clubs and 60s TV...and some on Broadway and film like Burt Bacharach. What a wonderful selection of music! Oldsters like myself really appreciate heaing great songs from the canon of American standards. Eads was backed throughout with a fabulous three piece combo: Todd Hunter, musical director, at the piano, Gary Wicks on bass and Kevin van den Elzen on drums. He was joined by special guest star Claude Hall, who simply sizzled onstage.

BWW Album Review: John Owen-Jones Shines On With New Solo Album, SPOTLIGHT

John Owen-Jones is best known for two distinctive roles - Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera. He had played Jean Valjean on the West End, Broadway, and in the 25th Anniversary International Tour productions of Les Mis, becoming the youngest actor to play the role when he first took it on at age 26. Owen-Jones was also at one the time the longest running Phantom in the London production of the show, but his record has since been passed. Despite having playing these two definitive roles, John Owen-Jones has an incredible range as an actor and a singer, something that he showcases on his new album, Spotlight.
