BWW Review: In Very Good COMPANY

Producing Artistic Director Spiro Veloudos opens the 2016-2017 Lyric Stage Company season with Stephen Sondheim's ground-breaking concept musical COMPANY. Winner of six Tony Awards in 1971, as well as the 2007 winner for Best Revival of a Musical, don't be surprised to find this modern makeover capturing some hardware when awards season rolls around in Boston next spring. The ensemble is filled with a roster of talent that doesn't quit.

COD College Theater Presents A WOMAN OF NO IMPORTANCE at the MAC

College of DuPage (COD) College Theater presents Oscar Wilde's "A Woman of No Importance," directed by COD Professor of Theater, Amelia Barrett at the McAninch Arts Center's Studio Theatre, Oct. 6-23. "A Woman of No Importance" premiered in 1893 in London's Haymarket Theatre. As with many of Wilde's plays, it satirizes English upper class society and features many witty, memorable and highly quotable lines, such as "Men marry because they are tired; women because they are curious. Both are disappointed;" and "Nothing succeeds like excess." Please note: This play contains adult language and themes.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater's Additional 'West Side Story' Events to Focus on Diversity and Other Social Issues

Chicago Opera Theater's THE LOVE POTION to Debut This Fall

For the first time ever, Chicago's iconic Music Box Theatre will host a classical live performance when Chicago Opera Theater (COT) debuts the Chicago premiere of Frank Martin's 1942 'The Love Potion' ('Le Vin Herbe') on September 30.

BWW Feature: Desert Theatreworks Plans KidsWorks, a Training Program for Children

Audiences that attend some of Desert Theatreworks' (DTW's) productions this season will get an added treat - a pre-show in the form of a musical revue put on by the participants in DTW's new, tuition-free training program, KidsWorks. The program, which will meet every Saturday, will teach approximately twenty students from ages eight to sixteen how to act, sing, perform comedy, and tap dance. Each fifteen-minute revue will complement the subject matter of the main production.

For one night only, on Sunday September 11, 2016 at 8 p.m., One Voice Orlando: A Celebration in Song will be performed in the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, 445 South Magnolia Avenue in downtown Orlando, FL. The benefit concert will feature some of opera's brightest national stars and musicians from throughout Florida. Internationally-renowned David Charles Abell will conduct and legendary baritone Sherrill Milnes will be one of the evening's hosts. Chicago Opera Theater's THE LOVE POTION To Debut At Music Box Sept. 30

For the first time ever, Chicago's iconic Music Box Theatre will host a classical live performance when Chicago Opera Theater (COT) debuts the Chicago premiere of Frank Martin's 1942'The Love Potion' ('Le Vin Herbe') on September 30. Martin's adaptation of the medieval legend of Tristan and Isolde chronicles the relationship of the two lovers who meet by deception, fall in love by magic and pursue their love in defiance of heavenly and earthly powers.
