The 30th anniversary 'Danceworks 2010' concert (April 23 to May 2) and a modern staging of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' (May 21 to 30) are among the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University's 2009-10 spring stagings.
The Joyce Theater Foundation (New York), in association with the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago and On the Boards (Seattle), is pleased to announce the 12 choreographers in each of the four cities who will participate in The A.W.A.R.D Show! 2009. The 48 participants were selected from a total of 218 applicants from across the country; one from each city will take home a $10,000 award to use toward the creation of a new dance work.
?Danceworks 2009,? an annual winter showcase of the choreography of Northwestern University?s dance faculty, alumni and guest artists, will feature a myriad of dance styles, as well as a special one-day event featuring the Emmy Award-winning dance company Jump Rhythm Jazz Project.
