Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Peppa, and George are off to the warm, sunny seaside. It's too bad Goldie the goldfish can't come along, but Granny Pig and Grandpa Pig will look after Peppa's beloved pet. There's lots to do on vacation -- send postcards, have pizza for lunch, take a nature walk, and of course go to the beach. It's a great vacation indeed, and Granny Pig and Grandpa Pig have taken very good care of Goldie. Maybe too good! Will this be Peppa's greatest vacation ever?
Director Evan Hoffman has worked deftly with a strong cast who pop in and out of the action at a brisk, engaging pace. With a special turn by 'Today Show' anchor Kathie Lee Gifford (whose voice work is remarkably good), it's a special evening indeed.

In five vignettes, Porter's ensemble dedicated themselves to the most basic and yet often most important words of everyday vocabulary: prepositions, conjunctions, adverbs, and pronouns. As Ms. Porter's librarian character admonished the audience, "What would we be without…without. Or, over, under, next to, behind, during, and between."

When it comes to describing Alan Ayckbourn's 1994 play COMMUNICATING DOORS, the Internet proudly boasts that the science fiction comedy exists at the crossroads of Back to the Future and Hitchcock. Does the Alley Theatre's stalwart and clever production live up to that assessment? In my opinion, not really. Nevertheless, it comes incredibly close to meeting that lofty mark.
