Wilmington Concert Opera, the minority and women run opera company of Delaware, has announced their 2024 season, “Voices of Home.”

The American premiere musical Zelda, produced and directed by 17-year-old Baltimore based theatre artist Sammy Jungwirth has announced its finalized dates and location. The staged concert production will take place on January 20 and 21 at 8pm in the 220 seat Lecture Hall on the CCBC Essex campus under the sponsorship of the Performing Arts at CCBC. Tickets will be available in November and will be general admission.

17-year-old Baltimore-based theatre artist Sammy Jungwirth has acquired the rights to the 2004 West End musical Zelda through special arrangement with its original producer Charles Dobson and will be directing a new scaled down version of the show in the fall of 2022.

Cape Rep Theatre kicks off its 37th season with the New England premiere of the hilarious off-Broadway musical western, Tumacho, directed by Maura Hanlon, opening Wednesday, May 18, and playing Wednesdays - Saturdays at 7 pm and Sundays at 2pm through June 12 in the Indoor Theater.

Each year, the Tony Awards release a list of names of friends and colleagues in the Broadway community who have left us during the past year.

On December 22nd, at 3:30 pacific time, choreographer, Robert Tucker passed away. Mr. Tucker was not only an integral piece of the Broadway community, but a Tony Award nominee for Shenandoah. He was the right hand to Bob Fosse and Jerome Robbins.

Cape Rep Theatre presents the hilarious comedy Rough Crossing by Tom Stoppard, with music composed by Andre Previn, directed by Scott Ripley, June 23rd through July 23: Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm.  

Over the last four decades, the British filmmaker Terence Davies has produced a deeply personal body of work that explores the longing inspired by movie fantasy and the intermingling of memory and history. Coinciding with the U.S. theatrical release of his latest film, Sunset Song, based on the classic Scottish novel by Lewis Grassic Gibbons, about a farming family caught in the aftermath of World War I, Museum of the Moving Image will present a complete retrospective, to date, of the films of Terence Davies from May 7 through 22, 2016. Davies will appear in person at the Museum on two occasions: on May 8 with The Long Day Closes and on May 10 with a preview screening of Sunset Song, accompanied by the film's star Agyness Deyn.

The story of the men and women who saved cultural treasures from Nazi destruction will be featured in a major gallery inside The National WWII Museum's upcoming Liberation Pavilion.

Cape Rep Theatre will continue its 26th Season on June 23 with Annie Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation. William Roudebush will direct. Performances will continue through July 17. Performances take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7pm and Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm. There will be an additional performance on Sunday, June 26. . Tickets are currently available as part of a 3 and 4 play subscriptions. Individual tickets are also on sale. Tickets are $25. I have attended musicals at various community college theaters in the greater Baltimore area but I somehow never made it to Bel Air, specifically to Harford Community College which is the home base for the Phoenix Festival Theatre.

The Pacific Rims Percussion Quartet is set to bring their brand of percussive cool to Icicle Creek Music Center when they perform in concert along with pianists Oksana Ezhokina and Lisa Bergman in EarthMusic on April 2, 2011 at 7:30 pm at Canyon Wren Recital Hall in Leavenworth, Washington.
