Uproarious Comedy RIPCORD by David Lindsay-Abaire Begins Friday 5/26


The Huntington Theatre Company will present the uproarious comedy Ripcord by Pulitzer Prize winner and Boston native David Lindsay-Abaire (Good People, Rabbit Hole) and directed by Jessica Stone (Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike). Performances begin Friday, May 26 at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. 

Huntington Theatre Co. Extends Ayad Akhtar's THE WHO AND THE WHAT


 The Huntington Theatre Company will present the provocative and moving drama The Who & the What by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced) and directed by Huntington Associate Producer M. Bevin O'Gara (Milk Like Sugar, Becoming Cuba). Performances begin Friday, March 31 and by popular demand the production has been extended through May 7, 2017 at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. 

Huntington Theatre Company to Open Stephen Sondheim's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE This Fall


The Huntington Theatre Company will open its 2016-2017 season with the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Sunday in the Park with George, Stephen Sondheim's stunning masterpiece about love, inspiration, and "the art of making art." Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (A Little Night Music) will direct. Performances will run September 9 - October 16, 2016 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre. Tickets are now on sale to the general public.

World Premiere of Craig Lucas' I WAS MOST ALIVE WITH YOU Begins in May at Huntington Theatre Company


The Huntington Theatre Company presents the world premiere of I Was Most Alive with You written and directed by Craig Lucas (Prelude to a Kiss at the Huntington and An American in Paris on Broadway) and performed both in English and American Sign Language. Performances begin Friday, May 27 and continue through June 26, 2016 at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA. 

August Wilson's HOW I LEARNED WHAT I LEARNED Begins 3/5 at Huntington Theatre Company


The Huntington Theatre Company will present the powerful memoir August Wilson's How I Learned What I Learned, co-conceived and directed by Todd Kreidler (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner adapter at the Huntington) and featuring Eugene Lee (Radio Golf, Gem of the Ocean, and The Piano Lesson at the Huntington), both longtime Wilson collaborators. Performances begin Saturday, March 5 and continue through April 3, 2016 in the BU Theatre / Avenue of the Arts.

A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES, Starring Nick Offerman, Opens Tonight in Boston


The Huntington Theatre Company presents its extended world premiere production of A CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES. The show plays now through December 20, 2015 at the Boston University Theatre. Opening Night is tonight, November 18.

Due to popular demand, the Huntington Theatre Company announces the addition of one week of performances to its run of the world premiere production of A Confederacy of Dunces. The show will now play through December 20, 2015 at the Boston University Theatre. Previews begin Wednesday, November 11; Opening Night is Wednesday, November 18. A new block of tickets are now on sale.

The Huntington Theatre Company presents the world premiere production of A Confederacy of Dunces, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by John Kennedy Toole, directed by David Esbjornson (Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and All My Sons) and featuring Nick Offerman of NBC's 'Parks and Recreation.'  Performances begin November 11, 2015 and will run through December 13, 2015 at the BU Theatre / Avenue of the Arts. 

ETHER DOME Begins Performances Tomorrow at Huntington Theatre Company


Huntington Theatre Company and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) mark Ether Day today, October 16, in recognition of the 168th anniversary that ether anesthesia was first used during surgery. The groundbreaking medical advancement was achieved by dentist William T. G. Morton during a procedure performed by Dr. John C. Warren at Boston's own MGH. MGH celebrates Ether Day annually, honoring its employees for their years of service.

Lovejoy and Executive Director Veronique Le Melle on Monday, September 29 for a ribbon-cutting, rededication, and celebration in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. Huntington Extends OUR TOWN Through 1/26


Due to popular demand, the Huntington Theatre Company extends David Cromer's landmark staging of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town to January 26, 2013. Tickets to extension performances are on sale now at huntingtontheatre.org and will be by phone at 617 266 0800; and in person at the BU Theatre Box Office, 264 Huntington Ave. and the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA Box Office, 527 Tremont St. in Boston's South End at noon today.

Huntington Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Sons of the Prophet by Stephen Karam (Speech & Debate, columbinus), directed by Peter DuBois (Trust, Becky Shaw). The cast of the irreverent and darkly comic story includes Kelsey Kurz (The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino) as elder brother Joseph, Dan McCabe (Donnie Darko, Saving Throw Versus Love) as younger brother Charles, and Tony Award winner Joanna Gleason (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, Into the Woods) as Gloria, Charles' eccentric employer. The production will clsoe on May 1, 2011.
