Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre has announced five (5) new Mainstage and four (4) Musical Theatre for Young Audiences shows for their upcoming 2022-2023 season that marks its 35th anniversary. Since 1988, Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre has provided South Florida with exemplary regional theatre and developed local performers that have moved onto the stages of Broadway. 

The Carbonell Awards, South Florida’s Theater & Arts Honors, HAS announced the recipients of the prestigious George Abbott Award and six Special Awards.

Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre will present the world premiere of the new musical Havana Music Hall, this fall in Miami, Florida. This new show centers around the lives of Havana Music Hall's best-known musicians who are just about to get their big break before Fidel Castro seizes power. Havana Music Hall will play Actors' Playhouse October 10-November 18, 2018.

Under the direction of National Philharmonic Concertmaster Colin Sorgi, the National Philharmonic Chamber Players perform the works of Schubert and Mendelssohn on April 22 at 3pm at the John Kendall Recital Hall, Potter Violins in Takoma Park, MD. Entitled "Next Generation," the concert showcases gifted students from the Philharmonic's Summer String Institutes performing the Mendelssohn Octet in E-flat Major alongside members of the Philharmonic Chamber Players. The concert also features Schubert's String Quartet in C Major. Potter's intimate hall seats only 90, allowing concert goers to experience chamber music as it was originally intended, up close and personal. The South Florida Silver Palm Theatre Awards, founded ten years ago to honor theatrical excellence in South Florida, has announced that this year it will present the coveted award to 28 individuals and organizations.

Broadway Global has announced the nominees for the 2017 Producer of the Year. The 2016 winners, Cathy Rigby McCoy & Tom McCoy, the first woman and first couple ever chosen as Producers of the Year (we couldn't honor one, without the other). Three countries meet on one small stage: Trudi Cohen and John Bell, members of the NYC-based collective Great Small Works, team up with Facto Teatro from Mexico City and Barbara Steinitz from Berlin to share a program of Toy Theater in venues across New England.  The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at Storrs Center will present an exciting evening program of three family-friendly works for paper theater--also known as toy theater--on Thursday, September 3 at 7:30 p.m.  This travelling paper theater mini-festival features puppeteers from Mexico City's Facto Teatro, Berlin-based graphic artist and puppeteer Barbara Steinetz, and John Bell and Trudi Cohen of New York City's Great Small Works company. Tickets for these family-friendly performances are $12.
